This southern California car has 1,670.2.4 miles since built by Groma Race Fabrications with conversion parts from Ireland Engineering. The M20b25 engine is from an 89 325ic along with the ecu and Getrag 260 transmission that had just over 100 k at the time of the swap. It was given a fresh head, lightened flywheel, mild performance chip, timing belt, new IE clutch kit, IE E-30 short shift kit, new windage tray, guibo, custom driveshaft, front and rear main seals, custom motor mounts, custom transmission mounts, all gaskets and typical comprehensive tune-up items. Groma stitch welded the engine bay and added body to frame reinforcement to compensate for the increased torque. It has a custom high volume radiator with electric fan, 3.91 LSD rear differential from a 320 mated to all new CV joints and half-shafts using IE's adaptor kit. Groma custom fabricated new front and rear strut bars, the rear with a battery tray, as well as custom headers leading into a complete custom 2.5" stainless steel exhaust. All new steering arms and bushings, new strut top bearings and IE negative camber plates, all bushing to polyurethane, front and rear sway bars, front vented big brake kit with Volvo calipers, tii master cylinder and rear drum cylinders, stainless steel lines so all driveline, suspension and brakes have either been replaced or upgraded. It has Bilstein sport shocks, H & R springs, 15 x 6 Panasport Minilites and new Hankook tires and an Optima battery. The hood has been replaced with an IE fiberglass replica with hood pins and aircraft aluminum side to side and front to back reinforcement. It has Hanoline hot rod gauges that get RPM information from the ecu and speed/odometer information via GPS. There are also Hanoline fuel, water temp, oil pressure and amp gauges that all fit in the original dash housing. The pedal box has been rebuilt. The dash has cracks so I purchased a better dash with only one small crack that goes with the car but has not been installed. All the door and side window gaskets have been replaced with new BMW OEM parts that fit and perform well. The chrome trim and window squeegees on both the inside and outside of both doors have been replaced. It has new carpet from Only02 along with a black stock rear bench seat that has good support and springs. The front seats are vintage Recaro with Schroth 4-point harnesses. It has new door cards from Aardvarc covered with black material very similar to the Recaro fabric and a suede Sparco 350mm steering wheel. It has no headliner with the ceiling painted black. I have receipts to verify all the above items.All the turn signals, four way flashers, wipers and horn work but the turn signals do not cancel which I think has to do with the Sparco steering wheel. ???The car has no rust in the vital areas like the shock towers, floor pans or undercarriage. It does have a rust bubble under the paint below both the front and rear windows and a small dent on the drivers side rear fender that are all shown in the photos. It also has a crack in the rear passenger fender indicating bondo and some small imperfections in the trunk paint that were both too small to show up in a photo. The hood has a minor wave from me driving at speed before I added the aluminum supports and also has some discoloration at the lower rear edge. I would call this car a ten footer and had considered painting it but I was primarily interested in performance and had other restoration projects that kept me too busy. It drives awesome and needs nothing. I would not hesitate to drive it on any lengthy trip with no worries. I'm selling as I simply have too many cars and having turned 70 am more interested in VW buses.
