This is a restored 1956 Ford Thunderbird JR. 1/3 scale.The car was used mostly for promotion at the dealers in their showroom .They were also sold through the ford dealers and used in parades . The orignal cost on the Tbird JR was $395.00 .At the time when pedal cars were about $15.00. The cars were made with help from ford motor co and built by the power car co of Mystic Conn. Each car was given a # plate .This one is #2493. The early cars used a 6V ford starter motor. Which had a speed of about 5-6 mph .Some of later cars used gas engines and had a speed of 8-10 mph .this is a gas cars with a electrict starter and also equiped with working lights horn and tail lights, also radio antenna and rear view mirror .The color is Wimbelton white with red and white interior.
