Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1965 Wimbledon White Ford Mustang coupe. This car is solid, mechnically sound driver and turn key ready for cruising. The winning bidder can even drive this car home. This coupe has been completed with many upgrades that just makes this car fun to drive. About the car: The drive train: A freshly built 302 crate motor built by a very reputable NJ machine shop. The engine has approximately 800 miles on it, runs strong with excellent torque and great oil pressure. It has the elctronic MSD ignition with the 6AL box, Edelbrock 650 carberator and tri-y ceramic coated headers. The motor also has a Mark pulley system and serpentine belt. The cooling system includes an aluminum radiator with a SPAL electric fan. Behind it sits a manual 5 speed T-5 World Class transmission supported by a Center Force dual friction clutch which still keeps the old school Z bar set up. Finally, the car has a rebuilt 8 inch open rear end with 3:50 gears. This whole set up provides low rpms when taking the car crusing on the highway. The suspension: The car car has front lowering coil springs and Grab A Track reverse eye lowering springs in the back. The suspension upgrade really enhances the way the car handles and provides a much better set-up than what came out of the factory. The car has manual steering and drives remarkably straight for 46 years old and the suspension upgrades make the overall stance of the car really stand out. The car has manual SSBC front disc brakes and extra large drum brakes in the rear providing great stopping power and safety over the original Mustangs in these early years. The car sits on 15 inch American Racing Torque Thrust Rims on Good Year tires. The car has new rear full quarter panels, solid front and rear frame rails, shock towers, and floors so the car is ready to be driven. Also, the floors were covered with the sound deadening mat for extra driving comfort. The interior of the car is in good condition, but the headliner has a small hole but otherwise very good condtion. I have added the R-Model dash as an upgrade to the orginal Falcon style dash. This dash has all Stewart Warner mechanical guages so you can easily monitor the motor's vital signs. The paint is okay on the car but this car could be really be brought to the next level with a good quality paint job. The drivers window has a small chip in it but vverall, I get a lot of thumbs up the way the car shows now and not afraid to bring it to cruise nights and other car shows. I do not have a title for this car but many states do not require one for cars this old. I do have the original owner's folder containing the Ford registered owner's manual which has hand written notes from the owner as far back as Septembter 7, 1965 and the original build sheet which was laminated to preserve. Thought these items are kind of cool to have. I am asking for a $500 deposit to be made through Pay Pal within 24 hours following the end of the auction and the balance due within 3 days following the end of the auction. I will accept a certified bank check for final payment but the funds must clear my bank before the car goes. The winning bidder is responsible for making all transportaion arrangements and bears all transportation costs for the vehicle. Please, please ask for questions if you are seriosly interested and if you need more pictures just ask and I can send. Good luck bidding. On May-26-12 at 10:41:35 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received requests for additional pictures of the car. I have included a few of pictures that show some of the work that has been done.
