Up for grabs is a 1995 4 runner v6 that when i turned off yesterday has been running great. I am only selling this vehicle because i have to go back to Australia. I will do my best to accurately describe the vehicle and I am happy to answer questions to the best of my knowledge. Please read this listing in full and also all the pictures. Any deal must be finalized at a maximum 3 days after the completion of the auction. I have no reserve but this vehicle is advertised in multiple locations and I reserve the right to withdraw this ad if a suitable deal is struck. Also note that with the intention of getting a mechanical inspection done on this vehicle I will update this listing with the results so please check back. This should be done by Monday 21st, May Some History I purchased this vehicle in June 2011 from a dealer in Santa Clara, CA with the intention of driving it from Alaska to Southern Chile before selling it there and flying home. However due to the incredible amount of things to see and do, I altered the plan to just North and Central America. In 11 months I have owned it, it has hauled 24,000 miles to north of Fairbanks AK, to Costa Rica and back to my present location in Mexico. My intention is to have it in Southern California (San Diego or Los Angeles most likely, depending on the level of interest) by Tuesday 22nd, May. Anybody wishing to view the vehicle before the auction closes please register your interest and I will make the effort to locate the vehicle in the most appropriate location. Condition Mechanically The engine is running excellently. At 210,000 the radiator and hoses were replaced. This was done in Utah. At just over 215,000 miles the upper half of the engine was rebuilt with a new head gasket, new fuel injectors, new hydraulic lifters. At the same time the rear main seal was replaced, new timing belt, all new leads and plugs, new battery. This work was completed in Texas. The clutch was viewed at this time and had good life left. The gearbox is good. 5 Speed manual. The exhaust is good. I assume these are both factory original. The 4wd transmission is in good working order also. I will update the condition of the brakes after an inspection. They feel okay and when inspected last at 219,000 they had good life left in the pads. An oil and air filter change was done at 219,000 and since then has only used about 1/4 quart of oil. It is due for another oil change now and i will do that in the next few days. Since I have owned this vehicle it has had six oil changes at around 4,000 miles each. At 215,000 I also replaced the shocks and put on 4 new tires. Lots of life left in these. All the electrics work including all gauges, except for the cigarette lighter which fell out of its housing. This has now been rewired as a plug for auxiliary use only. For example an inverter, cell phone charger or GPS. The stereo is a cassette/radio with Kenwood speakers in the front and factory speakers in the rear. There is also an amp that is not wired up bolted under the passenger seat. If I knew more about car stereos I would list more details. The radio works but I do not own any cassettes so I cannot comment on this. The Body The body condition is very good. All the paint is original and there is no corrosion or rust. The hood and roof of the vehicle have original paint that is powdering due to sun exposure I guess. All the side and rear panel paint is in good condition. There are a few thin light scratches in the paint from tree branches and general use. There is a small dent behind the back wheel on the drivers side. The front bumper on the passenger side has a scrape. The glass is good. There is a small chip in the windshield above eye level near the rear view mirror. It causes no problems and is not cracked. In Antigua Guatemala the drivers side rear door small triangle window was smashed during a robbery. The glass has been replaced but there is no window tinting but as an interim has been blacked out for security in Central America. All the lights and lenses are in place. None are cracked. This model has a rear window that rolls down inside the tailgate, and the tailgate folds flat. The rear window can be operated from the front console or with the ignition key The Interior Mostly the interior is excellent with a few notable exceptions. All the carpet is good with no tears or worn patches under the drivers feet. The door and roof upholstery is all in excellent condition. Some flaws are as follows. The top of the dash has 5 five cracks from sun exposure that run in straight lines from the windshield toward the steering wheel. The drivers seat has two tears in the upholstery. The back seats (and center seat-belt) have been removed and disposed of. This was done to fit in a pallet for sleeping and allow easier access to luggage and camping gear while on the road. It should be quite easy to find replacements from an auto wreckers for these parts. The interior is a tan color with brown seat belts. The construction of the pallet is all bolted and can easily be removed in 10 minutes. Alternatively you may want to keep it. It is great for camping. Please note that the included photos of the interior were taken without any detailing being done. Everything will be clean before the sale date. Mileage today is 225,952. Passed smog today and I have a certificate in hand. Vehicle serviced today with oil change, new air and fuel filters. Fuel injector clean. Fluids changed and filled. The brake pads had started to crack and have been replaced today on all wheels. The rest of the brake components were checked and are fine. The tires were rotated and given a wheel alignment. All this work is receipted. Also I planned to have the vehicle detailed before today to post some additional pics. This will now happen tomorrow. Apologies for that.
