Vehicle Detail
I have decided to list this car at no reserve and let it go for where ever the bidding takes it.TRD Limited Slip Differential for KP61 installed on this Starlet!!!These are extremely rare cars. 1982 Toyota Starlet KP61 drift car – 100% ready to go – Solid – Fun – Catches Attention Everywhere – Excellent Compression/Very Healthy Engine There are a few short videos of this car on YouTube. They can be found by searching for Starlet Guy or using this link http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5hw9WThX25APXP3-p7Hfig Don't let the mileage scare you. This car drives excellent, has near perfect compression, and has lots of life left. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere, even across country. It drives excellent. Carb - This car has all emission equipment deleted and a Weber 32/36 DGAV twin barrel progressive carb installed. The car runs and drives very well. I get close to 40mpg when I drive it normally. Suspension - The suspension in this car has been done properly. It took a lot of work and time. This car has Kg/mm brand lowering springs from Japan. They are very rare and provide about a 2in drop from stock. The spring rates are 4kg/mm up front and 3kg/mm in the rear. The car rides very solid. Not too firm, not too soft, very well balanced. The car has custom shortened shock absorbers from an MR2 in the front which ensure the springs are held captive. These were done properly by a very reputable machine shop. The rear shocks are from a Thunderbird which are direct fit on the Starlet, but also about 2 inches shorter which holds the rear springs captive. This car does not body roll even during very hard cornering. It drives excellent! This car was lowered correctly and took a lot of work. This car is really a pleasure to drive. Limited Slip Differential - This car has an ultra rare TRD LSD which allows the back end to be lock up. The LSD installed is brand new with very little time on it. This car locks up the rear end and can be drifted no problem. It is a very difficult part to find. I just sold one of these parts a few weeks ago on eBay for $1400.. just that part is worth buying this car alone. Air Conditioning - The A/C works, but I have the belt removed. I can include a belt with the car. Alignment and Tires - The car has Cusco camber plates up front, 14” Supra/Celica wheels, good tires. The toe and camber are good on this car, but the caster is slightly off. I have the spacers that are needed to correct this issue and will include them. This car also has a set of Techno Toy Tuning roll center adjusters. Brakes etc. - This car is 100% mechanical with all new tie-rods, inner and outer. It has new control arms/ball joints. It also has new brake calipers, pads, shoes, and front brake lines. I have rear brake lines for it, but have not installed them yet. The current rear brake lines appear okay. The transmission, differential, and engine oil are all changed regularly and are fresh. I have only used Kaaz LSD gear oil iu the differential and Valvoline 75W-90 gear oil in the transmission. Interior - The interior of this car is stripped. I have rear seats and seatbelts for it which I will include. The front seats are stock with seat covers on them. The seat belts are intact and functional. The car is from California but has a little bit of corrosion. Overall it is very solid and the structure of the body is safe. There was a hole in the floor behind the driver’s seat and I cut a panel out of another Starlet and it has been tacked back into place. This car would be a great candidate for a little bit of body work and a fresh paint job.. however it is very solid the way it is and I get commented on it constantly. Everywhere I go people inquire about purchasing this car. With the car I will include an extra low miles engine (Toyota 4KC), a full timing set, and various other parts that I have in my possession including an extra drive shaft and universal joints, wheel seals, and wheel bearings.. none of which need to be replaced, but just in case it is good to have extras. The carb is jetted well. It starts and runs happily, healthily, and consistently all the time. If you want a running ready to go drift car, here you go. This car is really a toy. I drive and drift it constantly. I should also add that I do not beat on it. I am careful and conscious in how I use the vehicle. It has not been slid up any curbs are damaged in anyway. The car is in good shape. The car has a small oil leak from the oil pan.. I believe the pan is seeping from where it mounts to the bottom of the engine. Just tightening up the oil pan bolts should fix this no problem. The drive shaft seal also has a small leak. I can include a new seal. Easy to replace. I keep all fluids topped off and never run them low. Lastly, there is an exhaust leak somewhere. I haven't looked for it yet. It isn't loud, but sometimes I can smell exhaust in the car. This is a very fun car and an excellent opportunity for a project. Good luck. Any questions please let me know. I will be happy to help the best that I can.
