This is a 1956 Ford Thunderbird that has been completely disassembled and is being sold as a rolling chassis ONLY. Here is the story: I am listing this for a good friend of mine who doesn't have the time. He purchased the T-Bird in 1972 when we graduated from high school. He did a frame up restoration then using either original parts on the car or they were purchased direct from Ford (yes you could still order original parts from Ford then). He then went to college for 7 years and only drove the car ocassionally in the summer. Upon graduation he put the car in storage and it sat there until this year. We completely disassembled the car into single pieces with plans to completely restore it but decided to do a different project. Both new quarter panels were assembled on the car just prior to the original restoration so they are in great shape. You will need to replace the floor pans, trunk pan, inner fenders, rocker panels and there is one spot in the frame that needs to be repaired (see pic). New quarter panels alone go for over $2,000 each. As you can see in the pics brackets were bolted to the door frames and trunk area with rods welded to them to keep the car from twisting and keeping its original shape. This auction is for the rolling chassis ONLY (what is pictured) The steering column and wheel with be reinstalled so you can move the car around. No other parts go with the car.
