This auction is for a 1999 VW Cabrio with approximately 125 thousand miles on the car. First-off the good stuff - this car runs and drives great with no overheating issues, it does not smoke or burn a drop of oil. The tires are practically new with maybe 4,000 miles on them. The front wheel bearings were just changed 2,000 miles ago (very expensive job @$400 per side) and the car has a new top as can be seen in the pictures - also comes with a Super nice Bluetooth ready Kenwood stereo. This car is the Karmen edition so it has all the options such as leather interior. All in all, this is a great little fun in the sun car. I bought this car to fix up for my wife who thought she would like a little convertible for the weekends but as it turns out it never gets used and the car needs someone who will enjoy it. The car is used and has a few issues (as most do) that will be the new owner’s job to fix. The car needs a windshield – as the one in the car has a crack on the passenger side (in Pa this will usually pass inspection as long as it does not impede the drivers vision). The exhaust from the cat back needs replaced. The passenger window cable rail needs replaced. The A/C does not blow cold – the compressor comes on so it may just need charged ?? I never use A/C so I never fixed it. Cruise control inop?? (once again I never use it) And the top needs a little bit of manual help to go up and down – so the pump probably needs serviced with hydraulic fluid. As seen in the pictures the Passenger side door trim fell off - I have the trim and I will give it to the new owner. Also there are the normal dings, scratches and paint chips of a 13 year old car. This is all I know of wrong with the vehicle – there all small fixes but I want to be up front so there are no surprises as this is an AS-IS auction. I also want to add that this car has a REBUILT Title. I had no problem registering this car in Pennsylvania but you may want to check with your state DMV. I have been all over this car and I can’t find evidence of an accident but once again I feel full disclosure is the best policy. I have taken into consideration all of this in my asking price. I believe this would make a great Father Son/Daughter project for a first car or an awesome tuner project car as this is a super low price for such a nice Cabrio.
