Over 50 pictures and 1 video of the engine running. Scroll down to end for video. Hello eBayers, This is an absolute auction. The car will be sold to the highest bidder. In other words, there is no reserve price. Due to life's happenings, she must go. I've done this before and find that usually the right price is met... supply and demand takes over and usually both seller and buyer are happy. You may end up with a steal. If so, congratulations! I'm honestly happy for you. We both still win, as I unfortunately need to sell her and don't want to keep making payments on the storage facility she is kept at. Up for sale is my 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider. But, before going any further, please make sure to read all of the following couple paragraphs: I have sold quite a number of my personal vehicles through eBay within the last year, but have done so through an associate's eBay account. I am not a dealer. All vehicles sold were in my name and from my personal collection. All vehicles were of a collectible nature, and all recieved positive feedback. (Associate's eBay username can be supplied on request for verification.) I have since then established my own eBay account. As many of you know, it is very important to be honest and forthcoming regarding the vehicle condition for two reasons: One, because you, the buyer, needs to be armed with all the pertinent information required to make an informed decision. The second reason is because I truly strive for my buyer to be happy with his purchase, without encountering any surprises after the bid has been placed and deposit made and to leave me positive feedback. My eBay account cannot grow, especially when in its infancy, without honesty and positive feedback from you. It is for this reason that I ask you to read all of the description and understand that I have described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge and have provided pictures and video I feel best represent the current state of the car. Please understand that I will disclose all that I know about the car in the following paragraphs. I appreciate your bid and respect your trust and aim for us to complete the transaction in the spirit of friendship and honor. Please, make sure you want this vehicle before placing a bid and make sure you can follow through. If there are any special requests, email me before placing your bid. An eBay seller can never afford an unhappy customer, especially during the first few transactions. I ask of you to do your part and for you to help me do my part to make this a smooth and mutually positive transaction. Many thanks. There is a LOT of info here. There is a lot to write about regarding the Alfa. Again, I am writing all I can remember, and trying to hit all of the important parts. Please, please, please, feel free to ask more specific questions. If I forget to mention something small, it is only because I did not see it or because I forgot. I have every intention to present you with the most accurate description possible. If I remember something pertinent, I will add it to this page ASAP. If you have questions, please ask. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ DESCRIPTION: Have you read all of the intro paragraphs above? Please do so if not. Ok then, on to the description... I am an oddball vehicle fanatic. Over the past years, I've collected all sorts of cool, unusual vehicles. Most of my cars are in collector condition, and I especially enjoy older Swedish and German cars. This Alfa was purchased my myself in June of 2011 with the intent to restore. Since that time, I have married and switched jobs and cannot find any real time to give my hobby the attention it deserves. This is the reason I have been thinning my collection out. In addition, it helps having a bit more cash during these times. This Alfa needs a bit of TLC. She has a healthy motor (see video at bottom for engine running) and transmission as far as my mechanic and I can tell, with 119,721 miles. But, please read on for the specifics: The vehicle was purchased from an individual that had owned it for quite a number of years and was his daily driver. According to him, he had removed all the trim and body accessories to repaint and refinish the car, but had never gotten around to it. He decided to sell the vehicle to me instead. The body parts like the hood, trunk, door panels, side view mirros, headlights, etc, were put back together hastily by the last owner when it was sold to me. Although they are "installed", they are not secured fully. They won't fall off, but they're not anchored like a cruise ship either. The Alfa was running and driving nicely when I bought it. Since then, the fuel pump has stopped pumping. I have supplied a video (scroll all the way down) for you to watch which demonstrates the engine running with the help of starting fluid that I am injecting into the intake. As far as I or my mechanic can tell, this is a solid and healthy motor. The transmission is also healthy, but since it has been sitting since June of 2011, the brake and clutch hydraulic fluid has leaked out. I refilled the chambers and was able to bring the systems back to operational shape, but only temporarily. The fluid will once again leak out. The body is nice and straight, but suffers from a few rust spots which I will do my best to show in the pictures. the spots are where one would expect on a convertible, such as around the base of the convertible top and around the drainage areas. The chassis / frame seems to be ok. I don't see any troubling rust there. It is mainly only exterior body paneling, and not to a very severe degree. The paint is okay-ish, but only just so. it looks decent from 15 feet away, but I can see why the previous owner wanted to repaint her. The pictures do a decent job of representing the condition. The interior is very clean for its age and for being a convertible. There are no rips or tears on the upholstery, although the dash currently has a hard ABS plastic dash cap installed. I notice a few small cracks on the dash when I lift the edges up. This Alfa has most of its body parts. By that, I mean that the previous owner had stripped the accessories from the body to repaint and to cure the small patches of rust on the body. He has apparently lost very few of the pieces, like the trim around the headlights and headlight bucket assembly. The headlights are currently only placed inside the body cavity and are not secured with its own hardware. Things like door panels, handles and side view mirrors have haphazardly been put back on by the previous owner. They are loose and require attention. They appear to be placed back on the vehicle in a rush to get it "done". The power windows do not work. the windows have been kept in an "up" position, and are not properly secured to the power window motor rail. The carpeting seems to all be there, and be decently clean, but again, placement and installation has been rushed. The convertible top is there, and so is the frame, but some of the holes that are supposed to be in the base of the top for securing to the frame have been stretched or torn. Just like the carpeting and door panels, this too has just been put back on in a rush. The cut and dry is that this can be a healthy, driving Alfa with a bit of help, or can be an excellent parts car. The seats, motor and transmission alone are worth a pretty penny. However, I feel that this car has a very strong potential for light restoration, and for the price it might go for, will be worth every penny. I wouldn't have bought it myself otherwise. I sometimes go to charity car auctions and BOY, am I surprised at the price of vehicles nowadays. Cars that could be had for $1000 years ago are now fetching well into the $3000's. Junkers routinely pay over $600 for junked, non- running 80's American cars!! Scrap metal is crazy expensive lately! Please do not expect to arrive with tools and expect to be able to fix the car up on site and drive it away. It needs help and attention. It has been sitting for about a year and has been started and moved only a couple times since. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ TITLE, PAYMENT, ETC: I have a clear, blue Texas title in my name. It is ready to be transferred to you. Please pick it up in a timely manner. One reason I am selling is because the storage facility she is being kept in charges me $200 a month. $300 deposit required within 12 hours through PayPal, with remainder due in 3 days unless you have made prior arrangements with me. Please, intend to follow through with your bid. These auctions take time and money. Please, respect my time and energy. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ HAVE YOU READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION?
