Up for auction is my vintage Rangoon Red 1965 K-code, Mustang GT 2+ 2 fastback. This vehicle has less than 2500 miles since undergoing a complete engine and transmission rebuild. Hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel use. If you have been looking for a rare Mustang with investment potential, this is one you don’t want to miss. This is the first year of the fastback and the highest powered ‘Ford’ Mustang in 1965, the highest powered Mustang was the Shelby GT350 which was 306HP vs the 271HP K code. The drivetrain on this vehicle is a 289ci ‘K’ code solid lifter engine 271 HP, It has a Holly 4150 Street Avenger 670CFM carburetor but could easily be returned to original status if desired. The carburetor has an automatic choke but could be setup to manual choke if desired as was original to the car. Included is a brand new Choke cable assembly. The car currently utilizes a single point distributor but the dual point is included in the auction and has been rebuilt just never installed. The transmission is a toploader 4-speed transmission. The car has dealer added air conditioning and it is debatable as to whether the GT options were factory or dealer. It does have a 1965 mustang GT main wiring harness and fuse panel and instrument cluster with functional inductive loop ammeter neither of which are reproductions, so I will leave it up to you. All of the GT signs are there such as exhaust hangers and fog lights and correct switch location correct tight steering box, front disc brakes, 9” rear end, you name it and it’s got it. It also has an 8k Rally-Pac that is fully functional. Interior has Pony style updated sometime before I purchased the vehicle as it originally came with standard interior. The condition is daily driver which has no major flaws but not ready for a big time car show. The car was built in Michigan and DSO’d out of Texas. I purchased the car in California where it had been for many years. The car is rust free and it has never been out in the winter snow roads in Tennessee for obvious reasons. The frame rails are solid front and rear as well as the front and rear floor pans. This car is nearly 47 years old but has been cared for very well over the years. A $500 deposit is due within 7 days. As with any purchase I would encourage a pre-buy inspection, the car is located just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
