Vehicle Detail
I'm selling this car for my friend Megan. her father passed away recently, leaving the car to her. The car was stored in Paradise Valley, NV for a number of years and was recently pulled out of storage and transported to Reno. A mechanic looked it over, got it running, changed the oil and such. I've since driven it a fair amount and think I have a decent idea of what the car is and isn't. I'm going to do my best to describe the car. I think the photos will help immensely, though as they accurately represent the car. The car went through a redo roughly 8-10 years ago. It was repainted a non-original color (the car was originally blue) and the paint is pretty good; there are imperfections, subsequent scratches and signs of paint buffing, but nothing awful or off-putting (I have photos of any issues, which I'd be happy to send to you). The paint is still shiny and shows well. All trim is intact and looks great, which is good news because I've been told replacements are expensive. The chrome also looks nice and all the stainless steel is in intact and in good shape. The interior upholstery has been redone and isn’t the original color (was blue, now white). The upholstery is in good to very good condition and looks like it was well done. There aren't any rips, tears or other problems. The dash has a few cracks and is currently covered with a dash mat. Most all gauges work, though the speedometer hesitates in cold weather. One window crank is bent (the driver's side wing window crank). The rear view mirror needs new glass. There is a newer Kenwood stereo installed below the dash with Jensen Marine speakers unmounted in the floor. The modern stereo could easily be removed without any harmful after effect. The headliner and door panels are in good shape, again, with no rips, cracks or issues. The trunk is clean and has what looks to be its original liner. GThe liner shows wear, but isn't that bad off. The original spare tire is intact, and so are some of the original tools (jack and such). The car runs well and has a nice sound. I think is has had muffler upgrades, because it sounds great. Overall, the engine seems to be without major problems. There are a few minor leaks, but nothing that’s a big deal. There are no adverse signs of smoke of any color, nor any mechanical noises that would point to a problem. The engine itself could use some paint here and there (like on the air cleaner cover) but overall evertyhing looks solid and intact. I can’t vouch for how many miles are on the engine (odomete shows 950 miles); I'm guessing just over 100,000 miles. The brakes work well, as does the power steering. Mechanically, I’m sure it could use a tune-up, but that's about it. I can't find the engine code, but it looks like the original engine. If you collectors know where the engine code can be found, please let me know and I'll confirm that it's the right one. Beyond that, all vin numbers and codes match up. I believe the car was built in California, based on the codes on the vin plate. It has spent the most, if not all its life in Nevada, which is why there aren't any real rust issues. Hopefully that give you a basic idea of the condition. Beyond that, I'm happy to answer emails or calls about the car, and am free to look it over anytime. I'm also happy to take the car to the shop of your choice if you'd like a comprehensive inspection completed. Thank you.
