1972 FORD LTD BROUGHAM COUPE HISTORY A complete redesign of the fullsize Fords was offered for 1971. This included a horizontal wrap around front bumper with a massive vertical center section much in the vein of concurrent Pontiacs. Taillights lost the traditional "rocket" exhaust theme in favor of horizontal lights and trimmed center section. Rooflines were squared off and had a "formal" air. The XL was dropped, as were concealed headlight covers for the LTD. Models for 1972 were similar but the lower bumper continued across the center grille section and the rear bumper was enlarged with inset taillamps. The 1972 Ford LTD Brougham featured in this auction is a Beautiful Original car that is well equipped with the 429 4 barrel engine, Automatic Trans. Auto Temp, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes. Power Seats, Windows, Locks, Tilt Wheel, trunk release. Electric seat back release, cornering lamps, am-fm Stereo radio. It has only clocked 40,735 Actual Miles. The car runs & drives great. I am selling this for a friend. There is a Clear Indiana title in his name listing the mileage as Actual. CONDITION This car is a very nicely preserved functional car that will drive to any destination. This is a totally Rust free car. You could start driving this car everyday. This car has an original interior in near mint condition. The original chrome and emblems are Very Nice. The hubcaps are perfect. The paint is mostly original, although the lower passengers side was resprayed at some point. The original painted stripe is beautiful original down both sides. This car runs and drives perfectly. The 429 engine makes great power and is smooth and silent. All of the lights and Gauges work. The Clock, Cornering Lamps and drivers side power seat back release are Inop and the Air conditioning is not cold. I think these are the only defects. The original trunk is beautiful. It has a recently (correctly) rebuilt Motorcraft carb. There are nearly new tires and has just been serviced. It was driven a hundred miles today! This is a whisper Quiet, Very Fast Ford LTD. It really runs Strong! DETAILS This is a Beautiful original LTD Hardtop. You can drive this car to Cruise Ins and shows right now. You can get into the Collector car hobby with a turnkey car.
