Vehicle Detail
This 1993 Buick Regal sedan starts with the first turn of the key. The engine runs well and the transmission shifts smoothly. I have owned it for about a year and drove it to work, locally, for a few months, then my job ended and I didn't need it anymore, as it was not my primary vehicle. At that time it was getting about 25 miles per gallon. I bought it from a family friend who used it as a second car, he sold it to me when he became ill. I do not know it's accident history. The interior is actually a bluish gray and is clean and in very good condition with a small fabric tear about 1 1/2 " near the base of the driver's seat on the door side, from people sliding in there. The headliner is tight to the roof and has only one or two small nicks. The back above the rear seat where the sun has hit the speakers is dried from the sun, and the foam covering there has peeled off near the speaker. The car has power seats and windows and door locks and it all works. The air conditioning needs to be charged. I don't smoke and the car interior and upholstery was very thoroughly cleaned before I stopped using it. The exterior is in good condition with paint touch ups, it is evident that it was touched up. There is a dent on the driver's door bottom that you can see in one of the pictures. The trunk is clean and dry. The car had an oil change about 200 miles before I stopped using it. When it was on a lift to get the oil changed I asked the mechanic to go over the underside with me and he told me it would need the rocker panels fixed to pass Pennsylvania inspection again, and the rear wheels would need welded. I asked him to check the front, and he did, and said it appeared OK. He said the catalytic converter had a "pin hole that would be OK until the next inspection". I went somewhere else and I had the rear wheels welded and also a quick weld on the tailpipe where it was separating from a clamp problem at the same time. A while later I was driving and the brakes felt funny so I had another mechanic check them out. I asked him to check it out for my inspection which was coming up. He had it on a lift and fixed one of the brakes and said one needed a rotor which I did not get done at the time. He pointed out that he thought the front wheels needed the same weld that I had done in the back, where they are attached at the frame. I decided not to invest anything else in the car because I don't need it. The PA inspection ran out 11-2011. Mechanically, the car is good, so the problem, as I see it would be with the panels and the weld on the front wheels, if you need a state inspection similar to Pennsylvania. Please understand that one mechanic told me the front was OK and another told me it needed to be welded. Buy it for the engine and parts, or if you can get it welded, if it needs welded, you would have a good local runabout car. I can tell you, when I'm driving it, it sounds and drives fine, if it was inspected, I would still be driving it locally. You could drive it to another location. I am selling it as is, with no claims one way or another. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have and/or show it to anyone that wants to drive to see it.
