Vehicle Detail

This is a great car. Drive it almost every weekend and it is fun, fun, fun. I have put a lot of work into this vehicle. Purchased it 5 years ago and it was in rough shape. It has been a joy to refurbish but I am moving to a house without a garage and have decided not to keep it. Here are the things I have done to improve it recently: I have receipts for all these items purchased and installed as well as maintenance. Replaced the master cylinder and the brake fluid last month (it was leaking). Also got a complete tune-up. The smog has been disconnected as it doesn't need to pass anymore for CA (there is still a slight backfire, needs a little more work) New racing tires (BF Goodrich P215/60R14)- 5 of them so there is a new tire in the spare tire wheel well (cost $700). Has a 65,000 mile warranty, but have only driven about 2,000 miles so far. Complete brake job done 2,000 miles ago. Last year I replaced the gasket, oil filter, spark plugs & wire set, air filter, and battery. New gas tank and cap. Tank was refurbished and everything along with installation (done by a mechanic) cost over $700. Had the seats redone by a professional - so is a good job, had the padding replaced (cost about $500). New door panels (cost $400) and interior handles on both sides. Replaced the driver's side window and interior lift mechanism. Installed new door seals on both sides as well as hatchback (cost $150) Replaced the windshield last year. There is a chrome strip that insets in the rubber, but was missing the middle piece on top, so left it off. I am including the chrome strips I have. Carpet kit throughout. I just spot tacked it down, am including the spray glue if you want to secure it better. Nice Pioneer stereo system with additional speakers in the back and port for MP3 player - a boom box on wheels. A Viper Security system, had them install a remote door lock for the driver's door. Didn't have it done on the passenger side, have to unlock it from the inside. There are two remotes and three sets of keys. Put new kick plate one side (am including the other I didn't use). Installed a new liner in the glove box. Replaced the head light bulbs for the main lights as well as the halogen lights (see problems). Problems: Some minor dings in the paint - check out pictures. There is also some non-painted spots around the door frame - check out pictures. Am including a can of touch-up paint. Dash board electrical system has issues - like most Z's. The speedometer works sporadically, but mostly gets stuck. I have installed a separate temperature gauge, good safety feature. The lights in the dashboard are also sporadic. This is a project I was going to do next, but didn't get to. The additional halogen head lamps have new bulbs in them, but it tends to blow the fuse, believe there is a short in the wire but haven't looked for it yet. The lamps are turned on with a separate toggle switch, so the wire is probably rubbing against the frame. The window cranks have been modified to allow for the speakers' clearance, the passenger side needs a different screw to secure it. The driver's door does not seal tightly on the upper edge. Someone tried to break in and bent the frame out a little, there is an air leak now when you drive and would probably leak in the rain. Needs to be straightened by a body shop. I don't have the tools or the skills. Some Extras on the Car: The previous owner put in an auxiliary switch for halogen head lamps (see problems) and a fan to keep the engine cooler on a hot day. Has really great rims - I put on the Z logos and bought valve caps with the Z logo. Had a dashboard cover already on, was a decent job installed. Extras for You!!! Am including a really great seat belt kit for both sides. It cost me $175 for these (see picture - is complete but some mice decided to use the boxes for nesting material). I decided to include these as they should be installed for safety's sake. Pieces of trim for the windshield (missing the small piece for the top). Lot of catalogs and information sheets as well as the remote for the stereo and Viper Security systems manual. You get 3 sets of keys as well as 2 remotes. Including a can of touch up paint. In cleaning out the car for sale I found my CD's from the 70's so are including them in this auction. Need to get in the 240Z mood. You get: Rockin' 70's (3 CD's) and 3 separate Greatest Hits of the 70's. ENJOY!!! I am selling some of my extra Z items on E Bay, might be something you would consider useful also.
