Vehicle Detail
For Sale 1931 Ford Model A Coupe. The engine and rear end are from a 1948 Ford Sedan, I purchased these out of a running car aprox. 1 year ago. I also purchased the transmission but am going to sell it in a separate acution. Did not want to deal with a column shift. The transmission in the model a is from a 1939 Ford. I purchased it on ebay and when it arrived it had a two small pieces of the bell housing broken. I still have these and was going to JB weld them back in. It is broken on the bottom and is not a structural part of the bell housing. The rear end has juice brakes and I am including 1940 ford spindles, and brakes ( these are complete assemblies) for the front. The next owner will have to build or purchase a crossmember or transmission mount of some kind. It is just supported right now. The shaft and torque tube from the '48 ford are also included, but will need to be shortened. The rear end has a new 2" lowered buggy spring that is tack welded in. The rear radius rods from the '48 ford are still attached. The front wishbone has been cut and included are the radius ends and plates to weld to the frame. The front cross member is a new 2" dropped part from speedway and is welded on the top where it meets the frame only. The next owner can easily move it to fit their taste. Also included in the auction is a Fenton (2) 2 barrel carb intake, 2 Holley 94 carbs (both are EAB model carbs) kits to rebuild the carbs, new red fuel line, all the fittings, new air cleaners and the carb linkage. 8 new spark plugs come with it, but it needs new plug wires that I don't have. The engine is set up for a chevy alternator that I also don't have. For exhaust is a lake pipes headers kit from speedway new in the box. The parts were only removed to photograph and are new and undamaged. The steering wheel, column and gear box have been removed, but are included in the auction. I will include a 1938 ford column if the high bidder wants it. The radiator is a new flathead aluminum one and is just sitting attached by hoses only. New mounts to the new crossmember will need to be fabricated. The car is a deck lid car and a spun aluminum tank and battery tray are just sitting in the trunk. I never got them bolted in so high bidder can put them where ever they like. The cowl gas tank looks solid, I just wasn't going to pull it off and boil it out. The front wheels and tires are 6:00 x 16 on ford smoothie wheels and old 41 ford hubcabs, rear tires are 7:50 x 16 on same wheels and hubcaps. Ribbed trim rings on all for wheels, not perfect but look good. No title, just a bill of sale and I will include the bill of sale when I purchased it. Will also include the plates that were on it when I got it. The front and rear bumbers are also included if the high bidder wants them. I am sure I am forgetting something so please ask questions before you bid. High bidder is responsible for all transportation arrangements and costs. I will help however I can, but when the auction is over, it is all your responibility. I just sold a 36 project coupe 2 weeks ago and now am forced to sell this. Balance must be paid within 3 days of end of auction. I will work with you on time to pick up. Also included is a new Mr. Roadster wiring and fuse box. It is the type that labels the length of wire with 8 circuits. This is a very solid actual Colorado barn find, was last licensed in 1961. Has a few rust spots in the typical places, I have a oem panel to replace the lower rear one. The next owner can have the original fenders, running boards, engine, radiator, transmission and rear end from the car if they want. Condition is on drive train is unkown. The fenders are rough and have been welded on poorly. The top fabric is in need of replacement, but the structure appears to be sound.
