Vehicle Detail

1972 Grand Torino Ranchero. Same body style as the recent Clint Eastwood movie "Grand Torino" except the pick up version. Bid on the car and "Make my Day". This vehicle has around 100 k miles. I don't know the exact milage. Red exterior with hood scoop .Interior is black with a bench seat that folds forward to access a storage area. Factory tach. Previous owner stated it was a 429 car that now had a 460 from a truck. Others have said it was a 400 car. Well, I don't know. It has a 460 in it now and has the big trans. The rear end is a 9 inch ford dropout. The car has the full A/C set up but I don't know if it works. It likely needs charged. I did a valve job on it when I got the car and know its a 460. The power steering works good. The heads are not fancy race car heads, but they have big ports and valves. It has an aluminum intake and edelbrock carb. The engine is smooth running and is hitting good on all eight. Does not smoke except for a tiny bit on first start up, possibly from the carb. I drove the car around town and to work for a few months and everything worked. It drove smooth like a Lincoln Continental. Was quick and would go really fast. The powertrain is solid, we did the brake pads, it needs shocks. It has air shocks in the back, plan to change them. Interior wise, the bench seat is solid and was redone, is not torn, but ready for a re-do back to a stock pattern. Needs a headliner, a dash pad and carpet. The factory tach is in the dash. The dash and all wiring is intact. There is a short crack/small hole, in one spot on the hard plactic portion of the dash. It is fixable. The door panels are good and both have speaker holes in them, about 4 inch round holes. The floor has a bit of rust showing but its not rusted through. On the outside, the body is quite straight and rust free. There is a bit of old bodywork that hints at a bit of rust in the rear lower quarter panels. There is one spot on the side (of a few square inches) where there is a rust bubble that is lifting the paint. There is a scrape though not deep(1/4inch deep) on the passenger side by the wheel well. There is minor rust at the rear fender wells. The bed is all good with a bit of shallow surfast rust where the paint rubbed off. The front fenders were changed due to hitting some deer or maybe an elk the prior owner said. There is an extra front bumper that is pretty good, it comes with the car. It is a survivor, vintage musclecar. It is a project, but not a difficult one to do. Interior and paint, needs tires and a battery. Submit your honorable bids! Thank you.
