Vehicle Detail
I'm listing this project car for a close friend. This 1976 Ford Ranchero was a father-son project that never got finished. The car was started, then put on hold for a while, and then unfortunately my friends father passed away. This car has been sitting in storage for 20 years. First, the body details: The roof has been cut off to create a Targa style roof. The portion that was removed is still with the car. They had planned to customize the roof section so it could be put on and taken off similar to a T-top set up. The door handles were shaved and the passenger door has already been converted to a suicide door. The driver's door is still stock. There are metal patch panels for the bottom of both doors included with the car, but they're not installed. The passenger door skin needs to be replaced due to damage when the car was stored. The nose is in good shape with the exception of a small dent on the passenger side fender. A factory Torino GT hood scoop from a 1972 Torino has been sectioned in to the stock hood. There are also sport vents sectioned in to the bottom of each fender at the back of the front wheel wells. The front bumper is gone, as they had planned to eliminate it. The car has a sliding rear window. The car has also had two FULL Rear Quarter Panels installed that were brand new factory Ford panels bought back in 1992 from Ford. The tailgate has been custom louvered, if louvers are not your style, there's a spare tailgate with the car. They had planned to shave the factory taillight openings, and as you can see, there's a 1968 Cougar taillight assembly installed under the tailgate. Second, the mechanical details: The original 400M was rebuilt and installed 20 years ago along with the rebuilt C6 transmission The car has not been driven since that drivetrain was reinstalled. All the brakes, suspension, and exhaust were re-done back then as well. The motor was started last Fall when the car was moved to where it currently sits, and it ran smooth and strong. As for the brakes, suspension, and exhaust, those items would most likely have to be gone through again. They have most, if not all of the trim and lights that are missing in the photos, and everything is included with the car. All the photos I've included document most of the details I have written here. I've also included a couple of photos to show the car was a really nice driver before the decision was made to customize it. Please email me with any questions. If I can't answer them directly, I will get the answer to you right away. We will assist on our end with loading the car with whatever transport company the buyer contracts with, in case the buyer can't be here when the car is picked up. Thank you for looking.
