Vehicle Detail
I've had this 1975 TR6 for about a year now. When I first saw it I knew I didn't need another car (restoring a TR4 and a TR6 already), but it was too much to resist. The car had an amazing build- so many of the right parts put into one great package. It's an absolute screamer to drive. And in a sort of mixed blessing, I could afford it since the paint had been vandalized. What I found and bought is an easy-to-restore, well built, solid car. Unlike cars that seem to have parts thrown at them randomly, this car was built with a plan and performs as a whole. The suspension is tight and level. The engine revs quickly and freely. The overdrive snaps into place as commanded. It's a great driving machine. At this point, I've finished the restoration of my TR6 and am working on the TR4. But I don't know when I'll get to this car. Time to let it go. It's been stored inside by myself and the two previous owners. Driven about once a week. Floor and trunk area sheet metal look great. The one notable rust spot is in the driver's side B-pillar (see photo of this area). It was apparently covered over with undercoat long ago. Where the rear fenders meet the rear deck panel there is some cracking seam sealer and slight bubbling (also visible in photos). Car looks great underneath. Frame looks good; t-shirt area looks solid top and bottom. The car was apparently vandalized sometime prior to my ownership. Someone made some significant scratches here and there (all in pics). If you have a good paint guy, these could be touched up to look good. All in all the body is very straight and sound. The paint shines great and would buff out even better.
