1997 BMW 740IL with only 12,928 original miles. Beautiful Black with Tan leather interior. It still has a faint whiff of the original new car smell as delivered in October of 1996. It has never been smoked in. No accidents, No body work. The beautiful tan interior is showing no wear. This may be one of the finest low mileage examples of a 97' 740IL in this country. It was purchased new in my family on October 14th of 1996 from Bob Smith BMW in the Valley (part of Los Angeles) This 740IL comes with all of the books, service records/purchase & sale docs going back to the day when we took delivery. It has always been serviced by either a BMW dealer or BMW certified repair shop. I have probably put on about half of the 12.928 miles over a 14 year period. It drives like a dream and is quite fast. This car really is the "Ultimate Driving Machine". It has always been garage kept and maintained like the close family member that this car has been. The car runs incredibly well. The black exterior of this 740IL is the original paint and it really shines. The 5 speed Auto transmission shifts perfectly. The climate control works as it should and the AC blows cold and the heater works too. All of the windows operate as they should. All exterior & interior lights work as they should. All other power equipment is functioning properly including the sunroof and the 6 CD Changer that is located in the trunk. The tires have about 1500 miles on them and yes they have been replaced since we have owned the car. The car has a few imperfections that I need to note here. A few small dings on the trunk area (shown in the pictures) A few very minor surface scratches (parking lot dings) on the sides of the of the car (doors) There is an interior piece on the side of the front console that seems to have bowed out a bit (see the picture) it does not effect operation of anything. The chrome trim piece over the drivers side rear door is a little loose.(shown in the pictures) The front bumper has a few minor scratches.(see the picture) Buying this 740IL is like buying a new 1997 model. I personally prefer this body style (E38 1994-2001) of the 740IL over the 2002-2008 style. This is a great chance to own a classic style 7 series BMW. Be the envy of your neighbors when you drive down your block to park your newly aquired Classic BMW 740IL in your driveway. If you think that the price I am asking is a little high, stop and ask yourself if there is any car available being produced today that is in this price range that you would even consider owning and then take into account how many BMW's from that era have less then 13K original miles, and are being sold by the original owner.
