Up for auction is a Not too Common 1959 GMC 1/2 ton short length panel truck that runs good and would make a nice project for someone. I bought this vehicle from a co-worker who purchased some property and this was left behind by the former owner. This vehicle was last driven in 1986 and sat in the woods until I bought it last year - see last photo! I have a clear title in my name. The odometer reads 29068. Could be 129068 or ??? Original miles unknown. This truck is bone stock, 270 GMC engine, three speed on the column, glovebox liner still there, the radio is missing. Passenger side wing window cracked. This was parked all winter in my shop & it doesn't leak a drop on the floor - no mess! This is what I have done to this vehicle: Pressure washed the outside upon arrival to my house. Oiled all the cylinders - let it sit for a few days, manually turned over the engine, changed the oil, installed new plugs, disconnected the fuel line, installed a battery & she started. The clutch works fine, transmission shifts fine, all wheel cylinders (new) have been replaced, master cylinder rebuilt - now brakes work. So it drives and stops and that is where it is today. I also had a set of keys made, so this vehicle can be locked up. The lights & stop lights work, the horn tries to beep! Wipers?? The emergency brake mechanism is stuck & needs to be oiled & cleaned. The fuel tank will need to be cleaned. I purchased a set of rust free rear doors ($400.00) & good rear door latch assemblies (now installed on original door) ($100.00) last year and they are included with the sale of this vehicle. Also included are a pair of good window regulators as well as a pair of door latch mechanisms. The original door latch mechanism splines are shot - vice grips were used on them for knobs by the former owner. (4) GMC wheels & hub caps are included as well. Extra door side windows, new right & left door striker plates, a pair of wing window mechanisms, a set of new window division bar felt channels. Please see photos of all the extra parts. There is some rust through on the driver & passenger floor areas as well as the center transmission cover. All of these pieces can be purchased for replacement. The body has some small rust areas on the lower sections, I have taken photos of these areas. The entire wood floor is good with no known soft spots or holes. The rear interior metal where it meets the floor is good and solid with only surface rust where the paint had been scratched. The top is not all dented, but has four 1/2" holes drilled through where the former owner made his own pipe rack carrier - long gone now. All of the upper sides are straight and the rain gutters are very nice & rust free. The original color of this truck was dark green. This vehicle is sold in "AS - IS" condition. I have this vehicle verbally advertised locally and have the right to cancel the sale (auction) of this vehicle at any time.
