Here is a 2004 Mercedes C40 sedan that stands out from the crowd due to its very low mileage and sharp, near-new appearance inside and out. My parents bought this car to replace their 1982 Mercedes 300D. This was their spare car and they are both retired so used it mainly for longer vacation type trips. This car has only traveled an average of about 3,500 miles a year and was rarely driven in the winter or even in rain. Recently they concluded that they don’t need a second car at all and so I’m selling it for them. I am "their son the car nut" -- a longtime Mercedes Benz Club of America member who has owned four, including another C240, myself. I helped them pick this car out in 2004 and I have to say it shows barely any wear or use from the intervening eight years. C240s came equipped with a ton of standard goodies, including leather seating surfaces, stereo, one-touch power windows, automatic climate control, and alloy wheels. This car has several key additional options added: Power sunroof; Heated seats; and Glovebox CD Player. It also has silver metallic paint, which was an extra-cost item and the perfect choice for this car’s design. This C240 is an automatic. The one I owned was a six-speed manual. I am really impressed by how responsive the automatic transmission is, and it can be manually shifted too. It has "sport" and "comfort" modes and there's a notable difference. I’ve never encountered a better automatic transmission. The engine has 168 horsepower but it feels like more. Everything is in top working order on this car! When I collected it from my parents the radio was not working but it was replaced under warranty with a brand new unit. Speaking of warranties… my parents got a terrific one through AAA that covers virtually everything. It can be transferred if you would like it and will run through this December, providing you with eight months of coverage – that's very unusual to find on a car that is over five years old. The front bumper cover was professionally replaced and painted due to a parking lot scrape, and I replaced a cracked lens on the passenger mirror at the same time and had that repainted as well. But most of this car's paint is original – and it's really nice and shiny too; check out the reflections.There is a ding with chipped clearcoat in the middle of the rear bumper if you look for it in that picture, and one small door ding on the passenger side. This car has the mileage of a three year-old and is in that condition all around. Although it is still titled and registered in New York, please note that this car is currently at my house in Alexandria, VA, near Washington, DC. I encourage anyone local to take this lovely Mercedes for a test drive if you can. However, if you buy it sight unseen you will not be disappointed in this nearly new Mercedes. I would like a $500 PayPal deposit at the auction’s end, with the remainder in a check or bank check within a week. This car is absolutely ready to be driven across the country -- why not fly in, have a nice long weekend in the DC area, and then take a honeymoon tour in your warranteed Mercedes?
