Vehicle Detail
Older restore 1931 Ford Model A Tudor (two door) in dark blue with black fenders, older replacement interior of tan (aged) wool. In tiptop mechanical condition, starts every time (both battery or hand crank), drives well and trans in great working order - UP UNTIL LAST WEEK -WHEN IT WAS DOING FINE AT 50 MPH AND OVERHEATED FROM SUDDEN ACCELERATED COOLANT CONSUMPTION - not leak, HAS ASSUMMED VALVE/ROD PROBLEM NOW. ENGINE IS NOT LOCKED UP, WILL STILL CRANK AND RUN BUT SOUND OF LOOSE or BROKEN INTERNAL PART. IT MAY BE ABLE TO BE REPAIRED IN CHASSIS BUT DOUBT, MUST ASSUME ENGINE REBUILD REQUIRED. Don't currently have time and place to do engine rebuild so the phase you have been waiting for: "my loss is your gain". SOLD AS IS WHERE IS! Rust free, shiny black paint undercarriage. New in the past six months: whitewall tires, starter, rebuilt odometer (still not working properly), battery box, muffler clamp, rebuilt original carb, floor mat, spare keys, battery cables, battery cut-off, fuel line cut-off, fuel line w/ filter/sediment bulb. Extra parts: brake lining, original brake drums, hub cap, generator (has six volt alternator), original water pump (has original look modern pump), some ford tools, hand crank. Car is more work horse than show pony. Older restore from 1970 or early 80s, ready for cosmetic makeover in and out, it does have some paint chips and blemishes around body but still shines nice. Can be both pretty (as is apparent) and reliable daily driver (upon rebuild) as I have used it. Driven many fun miles with ease both intown and on open roads. Needs one lower door hinge replaced of three per side - each side need - door operates fine. True mileage unknown. Original owner's manual comes with it. All original steel body and frame. 90% original, modern add-ons only where needed,i.e. battery cut-off, alternator, inline 20 amp blow fuse, bearing fitted waterpump, more efficient fanblade. Fold down trunk rack added, but not original. Original pop-out ignition switch, Modern fan blade but still have original. AS TO THE GREAT LOOMING QUESTION "what is the reserve price?" (which is somehow more important to some than the car itself): The reserve is an amount either above or below what you are willing to pay (assuming you are truely willing). In the alternative I will tell you, however, only in the form of a puzzler. It is 50% of what I paid for it when I bought it on ebay and 50% of what my reserve was when I recently offered on ebay and it did not have an engine problem. There, I have told the world wide web my reserve price, I may now go to my grave without any secrets from the world and a clear conscience.
