Vehicle Detail
1967 DODGE DART 270 SEDAN History 1967 brought new bodies that would carry the Dodge Dart to its end, nearly ten years later (the platform continued past that in export markets). Many consider the earlier Darts to be superior; they weighed less, felt more solid, yet had better cornering and, some say, a better ride. The 1967 and newer Darts were designed to handle larger engines, though, enabling the eventual use of the 318 and 340 cubic inch engines. They could also support a more conventional and, later, a more formal look that would be maximized in the successive generations that, while they eschewed the Dart name, were essentially the same car. The 1967 Dart 270 featured in this auction sold new to Georgeanna Taylor in Kokomo, Indiana. I am unsure of the history after she sold it. I just took it on trade on another Collector car. The original Certicard and owners papers are included. It just turned 100,000 miles. I believe this to be the actual mileage, however it is exempted on the Indiana title. Condition This is a decent original Dart. There is a 225 Slant Six, Torqueflite Automatic transmission and power steering. The original interior is very nice, with the only defects a tape repair on the drivers seat and some sun damage on the rear backrest. The dashpad, headliner and carpets are beautiful. It is mostly original paint which shines, but has many defects depicted in the photos. The bumpers are beautiful! There is only minor rust on the outer body panels. The structure is perfectly solid including the floors, qtr. extensions and under the hood. All of the exterior lights and signals work perfectly. When it was new, the buyer had a Chrysler Coolaire dealer installed Air Conditioning system installed. It is complete and the compressor is free, the blower works, although the belt is off. The heater core is looped, I assume because the core leaks. It looks to have been stored inside most of its life. It has fresh brakes, 3 new tires and a new battery. It runs and drives well with the following exceptions. There is a miss at idle. The #5 cylinder only compressions at 10 pounds. But the Slant Six still starts instantly, makes decent power, drives nice and straight and the brake pedal is right on top. It needs the included NOS muffler installed as the baffle rattles. There is Haynes repair manual and a box of misc. spares included. Did I mention that the car is Cheap! Details This is a presentable 1967 Dodge Dart 270 sedan in decent original condition with many original features that you can drive to Cruise Ins and shows right now. You can get into the Collector car hobby with an inexpensive car. I believe that this Dart can be driven to any destination. I have done my best to make an accurate detailed description of this car. If there is any aspect that is not mentioned or you require additional information regarding an item, please e-mail or call Larry at 317-862-2020 with any questions or to schedule an appointment to inspect and drive this Dart sedan before the auction ends. Please do not bid unless you intend to purchase the vehicle. I will do whatever is necessary to expedite the delivery to include picking you up at the Indianapolis airport or meeting your shipper.
