Vehicle Detail
Let me start with how I acquired the car. I took this car in as a partial trade on a very high-end 69 Boss 302 Mustang that I sold about a year and a half ago. I instantly fell in love with this 68 Fastback as it is one of the straightest body-wise and better panel alignment (gaps) than ever came out of the factory. (Flawless) This car had just finished restoration process just before I acquired it. The process was not a so-called frame off or a nut & bold but nonetheless a very very high quality driver. Now for the car: It's a 1968 FORD MUSTANG GT FASTBACK, J Code #s matching (302 4BBL) C4, Automatic 325 Rear Gear, Factory air conditioning (currently compressor not installed) The car was finished being built on April 23 1968 per Marti report and the Engine (Block) date code is March 27 1968 Thus #s matching Car. I have the MARTI REPORT authenticating the J Engine Code original A/C status. Factory GT Fastback pedigree Door Data tag reads....63A....T....2DA....110....17....7....W The car was restored back to it's true original glory, excluding a few mostly bolt on high performance items. Let's start with the heads 1.94"/1.54" valves heads, also ported & polished, all done when the engine was totally rebuilt less than 300 miles. Also added was a mild performance cam topped with an Edelbrock 700 CFM 4 BBL Carburetor, cooled with an after market aluminum radiator (which I believe is a 3 core). Seems like a nice radiator but for the area where the cap goes on appears to be too weak, not letting the cap fully tighten down properly, thus lowering cap pressure. The engine is backed by the original C4 automatic transmission boasting a 2800 RPM stall converter. Also, to add to what I said about the motor, it has long tube exhaust headers backed bye two SLP loudmouth mufflers which i do not care for. way to loud. shiny but to loud I think that is pretty much it for the Non-Original items. Now for a little info on the undercarriage & body new floor pans. New torque boxes (both sides)...both inner floor frame rails replaced. Lower cowl repair panels, both Left & Right trunk floor extensions and Rear trunk floor cross member . ( the rest was original and good). The body panels: New hood New drivers door New deck lid (trunk) both Left & Right Quarter Repair Panels installed and the rest was either good or needed only minor repair and original. The Interior: New seat upholstery, new dash pad & door panels, new carpet. Interior is in great shape, complete with fold down rear seat. This car is a power steering vehicle but it's not currently hooked up. It was removed so that the exhaust headers could be installed the lowering bracket has since been aquired and everything is present for the power steering to be re-installed back on the car. (also to note, the power steering pump and assist piston and hoses are all new) Also, has 4 new tires and all new brakes. Anyhow the list of new items are a mile long. Now for the finishing touches that needed to be done: Needs door mirror installed comes w/car Front bumper got a spot about half dollar sized peeling chrome, so re-chrome or replace front bumper. Upgrade radiator, Install A/C compressor and re-install Power Steering. Also, I removed the new front fender splash guards for photos, will be re-installed before sold. All VIN #'s and Data Plates are present and in place. ... Dash...Door Data tag... VIN# Stamped on L fender apron....Data tag on R fender apron....... I have a clear Florida Title ready to be transferred to it's new Owner! Also if a potential wants a specific picture or pictures let me know and i will try and help you out. Payment is to be US Bank Cashier Check or Cash and a $500 Non-Refundable deposit must be made VIA PayPal within 24 hours of end of sale; With Full Payment (Balance due) paid within 7 days, unless other options are agreed to by the seller. I encourage all who wish to buy the car to try to come and see it in person for your own good; but mostly to see what a nice super straight car this is. Obviously with the car being almost 45 years old, there is NO WARRANTY given or implied. Vehicle sold AS IS condition. I do reserve the right to end auction early. HAPPY BIDDING!On Mar-15-12 at 18:48:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I am writing this in an effort to curtail and possibly give answers to large amount of emails I have been receiving. A lot of them have to do with how much would it take to buy the car and end the auction. Well let me start by saying that when I was putting together the deal to acquire the car myself, I was so impressed I had to have it and likely did not leave much room for future profit. One, was as I stated previously I was so impressed with the car and two .. better economy. It wasn't long before that these cars were selling for over $50 to 60 thousand dollars conservatively ...and hopefully the economy has changed and soon come back to where it once was. Anyhow if I had to throw out a figure I would end the auction and sell the car for I would say $45,000 which is roughly what I gave for it not counting the few things I have done to the car. I also want potential buyers to remember your welcome to come look at this beauty and that when you are making offers and/or bidding on the car and end up the winner or making a deal to buy the car it is just that...you bought the car. With all due respect the cost of these type ads are expensive and you did not buy a chance to look at the car and make your mind up on if you want it or not....or that the color is not quite what you expected. And finally, I do want to reassure all bidders and possible winners of this auction if the car is not sold previous to the end of auction That the car WILL BE SOLD at auctions end to the highest bidder no matter what that amount is. Again happy bidding and good luck.On Mar-20-12 at 19:31:52 PDT, seller added the following information: A few of you are wondering if the car (paint) looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. I would say just the opposite . The car looks better in person. The car was done in base coat clear coat system and every inch was color sanded buffed/ glazed and machine and hand waxed to a mirror like perfection, as mentioned above the car is very straight and no dents dings knicks or scratches. Not even any signs of road wear pits or chips where the tires throw up debris from the road also nothing on the front valance.. Hope this helps
