Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this 1949 2 door fastback, mostly original with the original flathead 8 engine.(? cu. in.) Starts and idles good and the hydromaticc fluid drive transmission is smooth and it shifts nicely. The tires are in very nice shape. The tires are the expensive"Royal Seal" brand that mend themselves if a hole is poked in it. The original interior is in decent shape. The dash is excellent with lots of guages and lots of background lights. The body has a small rust hole above the drivers headlight and a small amount along the rockers. All areas easily fixable. All the glass is good with a small amount of separation of the drivers side window. The trunk floor is solid with a small amount of rust on the drivers side. Headlights, taillights and all dash lights work properly. The brake lights, trunk light, dome light along with horn need a fuse. The non-working horn could be a electrical ground issue. The ammeter, oil pressure, heat guage, gas guage & speedo all work. The blower for the heater nor the wipers are working at this time. The dash lights are beautiful at night. There is alot of chrome on this car. Some of the chrome is pitted but still shiney. The radiator looks nice, stays full and car runs nice & cool. Really handles good going down the road - doesn't wander. The body has some paint chips, a little rust along the bottom and above one headlight, but no dings or dents and nothing that cannot be easily fixed. I have set the reserve accordingly. This car is really quite 'sharp' and gets attention when out and about. It is what I would call driver quality. Starts right up, rides smooth, runs cool & smooth. It does have an electrical fuel pump. Also needs one strap on the gas tank as there is a wire holding one side. The trunk opens with a key. The headliner has some stains down low by the back window, but in good shape and all there. I have not had any trouble with this car and it is a blast to drive. Please contact prior to the end of the auction to discuss this car in more detail. The buyer is responsible to arrange and pay for transportation or pick up of this vehicle. This car is currently stored in a garage and can remain there for 30 days to allow for pick up.
