Vehicle Detail

1973 Corvette coupe project car. So here is the story about this car. I am selling the car for my aunt and the owner is her brother. The car was sitting in New York in their yard un used for several years which is pretty evident by the paint. She shipped it down to me to restore but ended up stopping the project due to financial issues. It has been in my garage for almost two years and gets driven around the block every few months. Its last inspection was in 2009 and apparently passed it. The car is registered in New York. The car never has a problem starting up which amazes me as i know how carbs are finiky. The car is a non original 350 v8 in it but the tranny housing looks to belong to the car. The car I believe was an L82 at one point of time but I have such limited info on it. The car comes with a sleu of new parts and i will list them below. im going to give the car a rating system first from 1 to 10, 1 being poor 10 being excellent 5 being average. Engine 7 Tranny 5 Electronics 4 Tires 5 Paint 1 Body 5 Interior 6 Mechanical DescriptionThe Engine actually runs very well it does have a minor oil leak. The transmission shifts great when upshifting but downshifting you get a grind noise when shifting to 2nd. The body is in fair shape, it does have cracks in it and the front bumper is cracked. The Paint is poor. It needs to be blasted and repainted. The car has 3 different layers of paint in multiple colors. The speedometer doesn’t work as it needs a cable. The tach doesn’t work as the distributor is a new one that doesn’t require the cable. The clock tells time properly 2 times a day. The fuel, battery, temp, and oil press gauge do work. The wipers worked then one of the plugs got disconnected from the switch. The headlights work like a champ, they go up and down properly. The underside of the car isn’t to bad but there is rust under the doors and underneath but I have seen worse. The brake light work but the turn signals sometimes work and sometimes don’t. Radio doesn’t work and the heater blower doesn’t work. The Good StuffThis car seems to have a lot of performance parts on it. it has hooker headers, side pipes, performance intake. It sounds mean when its running. The carpet has been replaced, the brake pull has been replaced, the arm rest cover has been replaced and a few other odds and ends so far. Parts that come with it I have a bunch of parts in the box that come with the car. Window and door stripping, a new fiberglass front bumper, new door panels, new a piller panel covers, rear view mirror parts, seat belts, new rallye rim, horn button, pedal covers and a bunch of other odds and ends. Over 4K in new parts in the box come with it. The not so good The car needs the paint stripped off of it. I believe the original color was silver. It looks like the car may have been repaired in the rear drivers quarter panel but I cant tell unless the paint is removed. The interior electronics will need to be looked at to fix the minor issues. The undercarriage has rust in a few parts that has left a hole mainly behind the doors that will need to be addressed along with the doors. The frame however looks ok but I am not a mechanic. Recap This would make an awesome vette if someone spent a little time on fixing her up. by far this is not a major project like some other. It just need a little TLC and some body work and paint. This was a really nice car at one point of time and it deserves to be that one day again. I have described the car to the best of my ability. Please feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer them the best way I can. The reserve is low on this car just to move it, it includes a lot of new parts to install. I just do not have the time or finances to take the car apart and fix it all. I have posted as many pics as I can. Thanks for looking.
