For your bidding pleasure is my 1979 Toyota Supra which I bought last year via Ebay from California, alsong with the red little Honda CRX you see in some pictures. I work for Hilton Hotels in Shanghai, China and bought this car upon a rush of homesickness and nostalgia, and quickly realize I'm not able to deal with issues with storing and maintaining vintage cars. The car has been garaged at my folk's house for the past 8 months or so. I saw it for the first time last month when I took my first trip home in 3 years. It's embarrassing what I'm imposing on my father, there are 5 cars fighting for 2 garage spaces. So I decided to sell it to more deserving enthusiates. Upon a brief time with the car here's a summary of what I found: The Good: Super straight body and chassis. The car drives straight down the road with solid and quiet suspension. Brakes work very well. Smooth and revvy engine. The motor revs freely and is smooth with good power, completely consistante with its Very Low Mileage. Transmission (4-speed automatic) shifts very well. Excellent plus interior condition for the most (important) part. Dash is supple, newish looking with NO CRACK at all. Seats are in great shape showing very little wear. Perfect headliner, door panels and dashboard. Excellent carpet. All controls and lights work. All original parts and details, please note the original speaker covers. Rust free body and chassis. The boday has been repainted, but it's evident there was no rust anywhere. The car still has the original California tags. No leak. Our garage floor is spotless after 8 months or so with the car parked in the same position. Original or OEM glass all the way around with no scratches or damage. All rims are in great shape, tires with lots of tread left. Brand new Sears Diehard Gold battery with 30 month free replacement warranty. Not sure this is good or not, this car came without a rear hatch wiper. It's not missing, just never designed. Particular to 1979 model year? The car is A CALIFORNIA ORIGINAL ON THE EAST COAST, cost almost a thousand dollars to ship it here. Lastly, beautiful blue on blue color combination that's very rare. A newly added dark blue second tone is very visually elegant, and the only none original aspect of the car. The NOT so good: AC blows normally but is not cold. Didn't have time to have it checked out and will leave to new owner. A few interior trim pieces have deteriated with age, namely the center counsel cover and the plastic pieces around/on the rear hatch. Driver side door latch needs to be greased to catch properly. When it came it closed fine, now it shuts half way, ie, door is not 100% latched. Again, no time to look into this. Idles a bit rough, but during my brief time it imporved quicky. When driven regularly it probably will be fine. A small shallow ding on the dirver side rear quarter panel, shown on a picture. Paint is glossy and looks great but in some very small areas clear coat is peeling (not bad) and two-tone paint on hatch is faded. Sadly even during my trip home I didn't have much time to spend with the car. This car to me was always one of the more original and enduring Japanese designs with honest engineering and simple ergonomics. It's also a perfect early speciman of the GT gentre. I drove the car for about a mile. This is a solid car that will last for a lot more year with care. As a long time owner of a 1981 Toyota Cressida I have no doubt of the car's mechanical soundness. The rest you've have to rely on the pictures. A $500 deposite via Paypal is required like every other auction. But I'll consider refund for the right reasons.
