Vehicle Detail
This auction is for my 1999 Land Rover Discovery II it runs nice...has a lot of room...good 4 wheel drive off road vehicle All four tires are new (Less than 12k miles). I pulled the front bumper cover off and it is all ready for a bull bumper (which I was planning) and/or to put a new bumper cover on. The Traction control, ABS, and 4 wheel drive all work great. Radio is good and I have the expandable 6 disk player, but it needs to be installed. Good sounding system. Leather seats. Also have two jumper seats that need to be installed that go with it. SUPER Cold air conditioner and SUPER hot heat. Power steering. Dual electric sunroofs. Heated Seats This is a very functional vehicle for off road and towing. Has a lot of low torque V-8 power for towing and is nearly impossible to get stuck. Always loved that about this truck. Would make a great rock crawler. They say you can't get these trucks stuck. This is a good performing truck. I have clear title...Enjoy!! New parts: Tires, headlights, alternator, battery (year old), brakes just done 3 months ago, fuel filter, hoses Problems: All problems are minor, but here is what I had left to do to it - It has a cam bearing issue that is common of this engine type. Essentially it sounds like a simple lifter because it ticks, BUT it only does it when the engine is hot and then doesn't do it at all in the winter time and/or the engine is cold. The dealer told me this is very common and is a cam bearing issue and will run fine without replacement. I was actually planning to replace it anyway, but never got to it. The part is cheap, most of the cost is in the labor, so if you are a good wrench it will be a cheap job - Here is the part you need - http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/STC1961.cfm Bumper (as described above) can be replaced with bull bumper or standard cover. I had a local shop do the brakes this summer and they couldn’t get the brake alignment right (Will give you a little shake braking at low speeds until pads wear even and/or proper alignment occurs), install CD changer, install jumper seats and you will have yourself a perfect truck.
