youtube video of truck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADFfhOcT2FI&feature=plcp&context=C37bb31bUDOEgsToPDskL8axz_cbRK3XgN13h65MWP Yesterday while taking out the truck for a test drive for a potential buyer the check engine light came on, i took it to the parts store and they scanned the trouble codes for me and it came up with 3 codes, 2 were for the front abs sensors which i know need to be replaced, and the 3rd was code p1670 which is electronic feedback not detected/recieved which from my research says it could be coming from the idm or pcm because of a blown fuse or stuck relay, it could even be that there may be a problem with the idm or pcm, i will try to troubleshoot and find the problem fuse or relay, but because of this i have adjusted the price much lower....i hate to practically give this thing away but have serious bills piling up and need to get rid of this to pay them. ^^^^^^ I HAVE SINCE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, IT WAS A STUCK/LOOSE RELAY UNDER THE HOOD, I CLEANED THE CONTACTS AND PUSHED IT IN HARD AND THE CODE CLEARED AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I WILL STILL KEEP THE PRICE WHERE IT IS AT NOW. PLEASE DON'T WAIT TIL THE LAST FEW HOURS OF THE AUCTION TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS Up for sale is a used 2001 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 7.3l Diesel it used to belong to the FDNY (fire Department of New York) and was fleet maintained by the city. The Engine is still very strong, however, it does smoke a small amount....a mechanic friend of mine told me this is normal with this engine and the mileage. When i first got it it had NOTHING in it, literally, only the two front captains chairs. So i went around and found all the seats and the center console and added some other things. i added a 400 watt power inverter which i put under the center console for when my kids would want to play games on road trips. Also i installed 2- 7" lcd screens in the back of the headrest of the captains chairs for the kids, also there is a switch on the dash which can turn them on and off that way if they were not behaving i could turn them off. also the rearview mirror was replaced with one that is larger and has a built in 3" screen in it but i never installed the rearview camera for it. Theres a ton of other things i have done to this truck...white strobe lights on front and back since i volunteer at the rescue squad, 3 100watt offroad lights on the front bumper, dvd/usb headunit, airhorn... Now for the issues.... i have tried to keep up with everything on the truck as much as possible but i lost my very good fulltime job so now in order to support my family i have 2 mediocre fulltime jobs so i have no time. i recently flushed all the differentials, the transmission fluid and changed the filter and changed the oil and filter and fuel filter ( I did these regularly on schedule). The transmission does hard shift into 2nd, nothing crazy but noticeble...it will do not do it if you allow the engine to warmup before driving which i do from now on. it needs new tires, i have an additional set of tires that you can throw on but they are older and have some dry rot. I did get a flat on the right front tire and am using one of these tires for now to drive. it will also need an alignment and that should tighten up the steering as well since it is a little loose. I replaced the interior lights with LED strips as seen in the pictures since i could never get the small built in bulbs to work right. Since it was part of the FDNY fleet there were holes in the roof for antennas and light bars which i have sealed up with aluminum and sealant it may not be pretty but unless your 7ft tall you wont even know. there is some marks near the tank fill openeing from spilled diesel and stuff. there is also a dent in the front bumper which has been there since i got it. also the ABS light is on on the dash, i was told it was one of the sensors and is easy to replace but i have no time. there are a few imperfections on parts of the carpet as well and some of the plastic moldings inside and i will have more pictures up soon depicting that. i have extra parts for the truck including filters for oil and fuel filters, serpentine belts and other small items. I love this truck, however, with working 2 fulltime jobs that pay just over half of what i used to make i can no longer afford it, with some time and care this truck could easily be beautiful and last years for you. this is the legendary 7.3l that has been known to last well over half a million miles, and the issue with the transmission i was told is most likely a solenoid pack which can be bought here on ebay for under $100 and replaced yourself, it just snaps in inside the transmission pan. i cannot go through every little tiny detail on the truck but if you send me a message with a qustion i can answer it fairly quickly since it goes to my phone and i always have that on me. please dont hesitate to ask a question if it has not been listed here, understand this is used and i cannot warranty anything but i work on these trucks myself and can help you with most issues...once again it is a 2001 ford excursion limited 4x4 7.3l diesel, 4x4 works no problem and has 232,000 miles right now but i still drive so i put the mileage at 233,000 to be safe. i have title free and clear $500 deposit through paypal due within 24 hours of ending, i have for sale locally so i reserve the right to end the auction, if you are local you can come by to check it out. full payment for the truck must be made within 3 days. deposit is non refundable
