Vehicle Detail
1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II -- no reserve You are looking at a great piece of American history. In 1956,57 this car became a status symbol of the rich and the famous. You will find a lot of well known people who called this car there own. Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, the Shah of Iran, etc., just to give you an gross idea. Gordon Buehrig was part of the team who developed the body of the Continental Mark II. For sure this is one reason that this car became so popular as we know that Mr. Buehrig also was involved in the body design of the world famous 1930' Duesenberg cars. This example of a Mark II is in very presentable condition. You will immediately see that this car is an all original California car. The previous owner took very good care of it. There a no signs of any rust and the body + frame are in outstanding condition. The paint is in good driver condition. You will find some scratches and nicks but it still looks nice. Chrome is in good condition with some minor blemish. The interior was recently redone and it is in good condition. The Lincoln runs very good. The engine and transmission are in exemplary working order. Previous receipts show that the block was rebuild in 2004 and the heads were rebuild in 2008. Besides the fuel gauge, all gauges are in good working order. The Mark II has following options: -A/C - the compressor is not working -Power steering - works good -Power seats - moves forward and back but have sometimes problems to go up and down - power windows - some of the window switches doesn't work - original AM radio - needs work - lights, turn signals are all good The muffler system needs work because as far as we know it is still the original one. There are some leaks. Recently we bought this car for one of our family members birthday who was a proud owner in '56 of one of this fine Lincoln Automobile. Unfortunately he isnt able to drive this exclusive car anymore. We are classic car collectors on our own and sadly we dont have the space for it at this time. This is the reason why this is a no reserve auction. We see this cars going for around $70k -$100k in Barrett Jackson condition. If you are looking for a very presentable driver with some minor work left, this is your car. If you are looking for the best base for a frame off restoration you found your car. Approximate 1500 of the 3000 Mark II are still in existing and this is your chance to own one of it. Maybe the best out there with all original sheet metal. With our contacts to classic car collectors all over the world we are glad to help the winner with national or international shipping. Happy bidding.
