Vehicle Detail

http://s1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff519/hipo_p51/ 1961 Ford Starliner galaxie. 390 4bbl car with three speed manual on the tree. I have no time for this car and want it to go to someone who will enjoy and take care of it. Staring the bid high, but it's what it is worth. high bidder will win. Body is perfectly straight. The paint job is approx 18+ years old. I think the previous owner just repainted the same corinthian white. It has a few paint bubbles that have not changed over many years. From five to ten feet the car looks like a million bucks. There are some scratches and chips, all very minor and fixed if you wish. the picture with the magnet shows where the few bubbles are. they are just below it. there are a couple bubbles on the C pillars too. they are very minor. the floor is solid, some surface rust at accelerator pedal, cleaned up and black paint when carpet was out. Has always been garaged for the past 18 years. suspension drive train is mostly original. rear end was rebuilt may 8-10 years ago. over the past twenty years it has been driven most weekends, never in the rain.Engine runs good, I do not know how many miles are on the motor. Could use a good tune-up however. Carb was rebuilt a year or two ago, it is the original Autolite. Recent fixes were rebuilding power steering pump and replacing a couple powersteering hoses, had a bad leak. I bought all the hose, but only replaced what was needed. the heater core last year bust and ruined the carpet. Carpet was replaced and heater repaired. Also replaced was the heat temperature regulator valve (C0AF-18502-D), this part was NOS. The old part is in the trunk. carpet is not the exact molded part for two door star-car, might have been for a 4-door. however the color was a real good match, so i trimed it to make it work. looks nice. I have few extra new parts. the engine compartment has the airconditioning radiator fan shround. however its not a a/c car. I do have the correct radiator top shround support. the shrouds on the car are original and period correct. looks nice too. all the trim is on the car and in very good shape. the hood trim piece hss a dent on the nose. the fender top ornaments are ok, but I have a new pair(part of the few extra parts). The trunk is just as nice as the exterior. the original (i think)spare is with the car. it has the correct jack (cant say if its the original one). the cardboard sides are falling apart, and are flat and still in trunk. the wheels you see are 16 inch. the battery area has some corrosion that i painted over with black paint so the area is not white like the rest of the engine compt. the battery tray is not original, nor is the battery. I do have a real original battery tray on a parts car that will go with it. It came of a later galaxie, think they are the same. the car is not perfect, it's 50 years old, still very nice and solid. worn exhaust part on passenger side leaks a little. i will send a pictures if you want. both side skirts have scrapes on very bottom. this was done years ago before i owned the car. I am sure I have missed some items and I will get LOTS of questions. Look at the pictures, link attatched (photobucket). http://s1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff519/hipo_p51/ Please email me questions. these are rare in this condition and price. I just dont have the time to take care of it. door tag: body-63A color-M trim-32 date-18K trans-4 axel-8 also the car has overdrive too. the extra parts are, two left fender tops, nice. 1 right fender top, nice but used. high beam floor switch. cover for trunk lock, nos. switch for heater, nos. wire loom for back-up lights, nos. a pair of tail light lenses, nos. caps for wheels. master cylinder (repop). vin#1J53Z110945 This car is sold as is, where is.
