I just bought this Sportop a couple weeks ago with the intention of restoring it but I found a Scout II which is what i really want and I cant do them both so I decided to sell this instead of letting it sit. I purchased it from the 2nd owner who has had it since he was kid in high school. The alternator bracket bolt broke off at the block and he parked it-this was in the early 80's. I didn't try to start it as I am mechanically challenged but I have a good idea it will start up with a little effort. This Scout is very complete and untouched as you can see in the pictures. There is very little rust as they have never salted roads here in Montana-the only areas I could find were 2 nickle sized holes in the bed floor and one small hole one the drivers floor. There is a little rust issue on part of the bed were the side meets but overall it is a great start to restore-you wont have a ton of money in body work. There is a dent in the passenger side fender, a light dent in the drivers door and just a few other small dings. The Sportop has had a little glass work done on the drivers corner and the latches quit working so he bolted springs on the front to hold the top. The interior is complete and is in real decent shape for the age. This Scout came equipped with the rare factory PTO winch-which is totally complete, dual tanks, radio, and a few other options you can see on the build sheet which was in the glove compartment. I dont have the title right now as the previous owner had to apply for a lost title. I have known the guy for 25 years so there will not be a problem-I will guarentee a title I really hate to sell this rare Scout but I found one that is road ready so this guy needs to go to a good home.
