95% DONE PROJECT CAR! Classic 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible. This classic car is in running condition and can be driven regularly with a little TLC. What it needs: -Convertible Top (headliner, padding and frame parts) -Front end alignment -Minor Body work -Rubber replaced -Reupolstery/seat cover -Gas gauge and odometer -Windshield wiper inserts What has been done: -New floor pans installed in 2011 including heater channels -Recently converted car to carburetor from fuel injection -Brake work and engine tuned in last 2 months Current state: The "professional" that installed the new floor pans neglected to remember that the convertible top is in NO condition to be left outside in the elements. Consequently, water got onto floor pans and surface rust began. To add injury to insult, the professional installed the first set of new carpet over the rust in an attempt to conceal it along with apparently not completing the install of the floor at least to my satisfaction. No, you won't have to worry about Flintstones style driving but there was more they could've done in terms of seals, mounting seats, etc. A reputable professional informed me that sanding and sealant is all that is required so I cancelled the first listing and did exactly that. Included with auction (see pictures): -New Steering wheel -New Custom Dashboard and Console -New Empi Shifter -New Convertible Top -New Carpet -New Speaker kicker panels -Set of oversized tires and rims (215/60R 15 - Front) and (235/60R15 - Rear) -Car Cover Why am I selling?: This car was never intended for me as I'm 6'1". This was intended as a surprise for my girlfriend. We've since split up and not only is the car a constant reminder of her, but I have no use for a car I can't fit in for long periods of time and consequently can't drive. Not bitter.
