Vehicle Detail
1966 JAGUAR MK II Sedan, 3.8, 4 Speed Manual Transmission with Overdrive. This is a matching numbers car: engine, cylinder head, and transmission are original to the car. I am the fourth owner of this car. The original owner was in Spain. When that owner passed away in the early 70’s, the car was shipped to a relative in Indiana who kept it for a very short time before the car was purchased by my father in 1976, then is was passed to me in 1990. This car is in very good condition and would make a very nice “driver” car with little or no work. The car starts right up thanks to the electronic ignition conversion, runs and drives very well, and shifts smoothly. Mechanical improvements to the car include: engine rebuilt in 1989; gas tank and fuel system cleaned and restored in 1995; brake servo replaced and calipers rebuilt in 1996; cylinder head rebuilt in 1997; new exhaust 1998; upgrade to electronic ignition 2000. Some mechanical things that need to be done include reconnecting the heater controls (I don’t drive it much in cold weather), tachometer, electric overdrive (wiring harness missing); foglamps (wiring harness missing). The entire interior of the car, including seat covers, carpet, headliner, leather trim, door panels, etc. was replaced in 1995 with a complete OEM Jaguar kit from GW Bartlett. The certificate of authenticity is included with the car. The woodwork was also refinished around this time. The car still has the original AM radio. The exterior is in good shape for a daily driver. It was repainted in the original Old English White in the 80s and the paint has held up fairly well due the car being garage kept ever since. There a few nicks and scratches here and there, but overall the paint shines well and looks good. There is very little surface rust under this car; the floors, sills, door bottoms, trunk, front “crow’s feet”, and rear suspension mounts are all in nice shape. There does appear to be some signs of rust that was repaired/patched with bondo behind the front wheel arches. The spare tire, jack and original owner’s manual and maintenance chart are still with the car and will go to the new owners. The chrome is in good condition for the age of the car. I have tried to describe this car as accurately as possible; addressing the good, the bad and the ugly. I have several photos of the car, including the underside, engine bay, trunk, interior and exterior which can be viewed online at http://s1267.photobucket.com/albums/jj543/rick47630/ All shipping arrangements and expenses will be paid by the buyer. The car will not be shipped until all funds clear my bank. I can also help arrange shipping if needed. This car is for sale locally and thus I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME IF THE CAR IS SOLD PRIOR TO THE END OF THE AUCTION. This auction will be for 3 DAYS ONLY. After that, if the car is not sold, I am listing it with a local dealer on consignment and will not be posting it on Ebay again. Please call (812) 449-3274 or email if you have any additional questions.
