For Auction is a 1979 Mercedes 240D Diesel, 4 Speed Manual Transmission with 324000 Miles. This car is in good running condition. The exterior is in good shape with only a few chips of paint that came off when I made the mistake of pressure washing the car, but it is only on the trunk and can be easily fixed. The interior is in good shape. The carpet is nearing the end of its life, but is all modular and can be easily replaced or camofladged by some new floormats. The car gets great milege. The car requires a little shot of starting fluid when it has sat more than a few hours. I believe there is a pinhole in the fuel line that may be pulling air and is causing the system to loose its prime and should be an easy fix. Once it is running it cranks right up and drives fine. The AC compressor locked up some time ago and was bypassed by a previous owner. The heat works fine. The odometor quit working recently when I was attempting to change a bulb out in the instrument cluster. This is a good little classic that can either be easily restored or just used to run around in as is. I have been driving the car for about 2 years to save on gas and keep my F350 Dually parked.
