1979 Honda CBX

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for auction is a 1979 Honda CBX super Sport. I am the second owner of this motorcycle. I have owned it since 1981 when I bought it from a close friend. It has been in storage since 1996. The motorcycle is not in buy and drive condition. It will need some work to be drivable. It would be a great restore motorcycle or a fixer upper. It is a good solid motorcycle that could either be running with a few fixes or can be striped and rebuilt to be a great motorcycle. This is a classic with only 13,693 miles. I had always planned to restore it myself, but time is not going to permit that and it is not doing it any good to set in storage. Prior to putting it in storage it ran and drove great. This is what I did in the 6 months before storing it. · New OEM Honda exhaust, still in GREAT condition. · Repainted it with factory color red. · Seat recovered · Had the carburetors rebuilt· New rear tire Things it will need · The brakes have to be rebuilt or replaced in order to ride. o Master cylinders, o Brake Calipers o Brake pads· Gas tank drained and flushed· Carbs should be pulled and cleaned (may not have to do this, but I would)· Needs a new left mirror. · New battery· Could use a new paint job on tank. o Paint damaged while in storage from master cylinder leaking on tank (see Pictures) The Right handle bar has some paint damage from the brake fluid leak. (see Picture) This motorcycle is being sold AS-IS. I have not tried to start it since I took it out of storage. I have no reason to think it will not run as good as it was when I put it in storage after it is flushed and cleaned. However, I cannot warranty it to do so. I will be very honest with the condition of this motorcycle and am happy to have anyone stop and look at it prior to buying, by appointment.
