Vehicle Detail

Up for your consideration today is an extremely nice / clean and 100% rust free 1987 GMC K-1500 that was a show truck when first built. The truck is absolutely gorgeous! The paint is show quality and laid down over a stick straight, rust free body. It has very slight “Ghost Flames” on the hood in the clear but they are subtle and look classy once you notice them. The core support, firewall, inner fenders, motor, etc… are all color matched. Here are the basics: 1987 GMC K-1500 ½ ton 4x4 long box frame off restoration / show build. The truck has working factory air conditioning, a factory tilt wheel, factory intermittent wipers, factory dual fuel tanks, and a tow package. It is powered by a GM crate 350 with approx 5k on it. The motor has an Edelbrock “Air Gap” aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock “1406” Performer carb, Hooker Comp long tube headers, Edelbrock open element air cleaner, Moroso high temp plug wires and Speedway retainers, Holley Electric fuel pump / regulator, and painted color matched to the truck. The transmission is a 700-R4 with a mild shift enhancer for the larger tires and tow package with about 5k on it as well. It shifts solid under light / mid acceleration and firm under a hard load. The rear ends are stock units with 3:73-1 ratios. They are mounted to the frame using a Rough country 6” lift and shock package. A drop pitman arm and steering stabilizer complete the package. The drivelines have been rebuilt as well as all of the front end / suspension components at the time the truck was built. The brakes are new all the way around and were replaced about 800 miles ago. The exhaust is a Flowmaster aluminized system in 2.5” with super 40 series mufflers and 4” stainless exhaust tips. It looks great and sounds excellent. It is nice and mellow at 60mph cruising but has a nice “bark” under acceleration. The truck rolls on a set of BF Goodrich 285-65-20 T/A Radials that are mounted on chrome plated Incubus wheels and look stunning against the Gorgeous paint. The dent free bed and tailgate were covered in a spray in bedliner that looks wonderful. The external appearance was kept clean and classy with just a few appointments like wheel opening moldings, stainless mirrors, billet grille, chrome bumpers, stock marker lights, and tinted windows. The fender badges were removed as well as the side chrome for a sleek appearance. The truck starts right up, sounds great, runs / drives like new, stops straight, and is a real joy to drive! You will not be disappointed. Everywhere you look on this truck is nice! There are a few small rock chips, etc... from being driven but it will still show very well. On Feb-07-12 at 18:40:52 PST, seller added the following information: I have had so many people calling and e-mails that I have decided to try and make this easy. Everyone is asking how much "own the truck right now" or "end the auction early". I am changing the "THE BUY-IT-NOW" and setting the reserve so anyone can end the auction with a click of the mouse. Otherwise, I am going to let the auction run to completion. Thank you again for the interest and good luck with the auction. The winning bidder will not be dissapointed! On Feb-13-12 at 13:30:15 PST, seller added the following information: Quick note; The motor is listed as a 290hp but is a 350 H.O motor with 300hp. The part # is 12355345. It is a 9.1 to 1 compression, 4 bolt, 1-piece rear main rated at 300 horse at 5,000 rpm and 369 ft torque at 3,500 rpm. I have the spec sheet that will go with the paperwork to the new owner. The transmission is a GM Factory direct replacement 700-R4 as listed with a stage 1 shift enhancer. I hope this clears any questions up...
