I could almost replace the word EXCELLENT with PERFECT in most of my description below but, i will allow the pictures to do that for me. Mileage shown 16891 as of last pictures taken. Title has 2 signed affidavits on the back from previous owners stating mileage original. CARFAX IS NOT APPLICABLE TO CARS OLDER THAN 1981 The car is 36 years old. After 10 years in Texas, mileage is listed as EXEMPT on Texas titles. The last 2 owner affidavits stated listed mileage however, it could be more. Unfortunatnly only the quality of the car can determine the mileage and in my opinion this car is still extremely low mileage regardless. There is nothing broke on this car that would be worth the money to repair. Everything seems to work perfectly short of the electric antenna motor (perhaps a fuse) and, digital clock (maybe rebuild or wind???). Antenna comes up and done by hand just fine and pickups reception fine too. The alignment seems perfect but if i were to keep the car i might consider getting the steering wheel adjusted to be straight when driving (car goes straight but steering wheel is at about 1 o'clock). This car would be make a very reliable daily for anyone who doesn't mind paying for the gas of the 460 V-8 engine. This car could easily be driven cross country without any problems (besides the very low mileage of a 460 engine!!!). Car would be great as a show car, or a parade car. Runs smooth and it floats like a cloud. Seats very comfortable (i have ridden in all 4). Car will start right up even after sitting. Power steering work perfect and the car can take corners just as it probably could when new. Does not run hot at all. Drives down the highway better than most newer cars. Brakes work great. Tires still look new and have excellent tread. Show no wear at all or that might come from mechanical problems such as alignment. Paint on the car is excellent condition with very few chips and dents which one would find on an all original 36 year old vehicle. Paint is cream color and brown. There are maybe 3 or so small chips and one or two very small dents on the door. Absolutely nothing major and not seen on a quick first glance. Door jams are very clean as is the truck, truck lid and any other jams. Door close perfectly and quietly. I have had both body men and mechanics check this car out and both says its solid. Vinyl top is white and in excellent condition. All windows and mirrors are like new and show absolutely no signs of clouding. All front windows roll up (electrically). Driver side seat shows some wear which can be seen in the pictures. Front passenger side not bad at all and the back passengers side excellent. I believe they sell new seats or they can be repaired but, i would not waste the money unless you are planning on putting this car in serious car shows. The car shows very little wear besides the seats. This is a Texas car and in Texas we have both extreme heat, drought, cold, snow, etc etc. I assume most of the age shown in the seats are due to our weather more than mileage. The leather seats seem dry to the touch. I have never seen original 36 year old seats in better condition so i really do not know what to expect. Carpet is a yellow/brown shag type which obviously is from the era. Condition of carpet very good and doesn't show wear. It has rubber floor mat about the same color as the carpet but i do not know if they are original or not. Dashboard, and steering wheel all in excellent condition. Everything inside the car seems to work just perfect. Even cigarette lighter looks great and original. All the lights, switches, even the original 8-track AM/FM which sounds great (for what it is). A/C blows cold. Heat blows hot. All vents blow fine. Climate control works. Set the climate control to 75 and the heat / A/C will come on when needed. Has cruise control which works perfectly and the horn sounds like an air horn and really gets peoples attention. Headliner is in perfect condition short of a small tear that was repaired and a spot where perhaps 6 threads from the seam have come out but, can probably be repaired for anyone who is very meticulous or wants the car in judged car shows. I would not at all waste the money or time because its really not even noticeable unless being judged. 460 V-8 Engine very clean for 36 years. Starts right up, runs great, idles great, pickups great. Run perfectly. I have not found anything wrong with it at all. Sounds great too. However, don't compare its gas mileage to the hybrid cars we have today! Gas tank holds a little less than 30 gallons if that tells you anything about the mileage of a 460 V-8 The FACTORY LISTING MPG of this car is 8-10 MPG (FACTORY LISTING FROM 1976)..... Keep in mind the factory listed MPG is usually under perfect situations. The recommended octane for this is 91. Gas is currently priced around $4.00... IF you do not live in the Dallas Fort Worth area, then you might consider shipping this car instead of driving it home. Do the calculations. Futher note, the NADA guide price Pricing Original MSRP Low Retail Average Retail High Retail $11,060 $4,975 $8,950 $22,700 This quality of this car is far above "Average Retail" quality http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1976/Lincoln/Mark-IV/2-Door-Hardtop-Coupe/Values
