Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1989 F250. It is four wheel drive, and only has 88,000 miles on the truck. It has an automatic transmission, long bed, standard cab, 351 engine, manual locking hubs. I bought it a little over a year ago to use on weekends to haul stuff and to get around in the snow. However, living in the city I just don't use it enough, and its time to let it go. The gentleman I bought it from used it as his daily driver to and from work everyday. He also had the engine replaced in the truck, and he was not sure how many miles were on the replacement engine, but it runs very strong. It drives very well on the road and highway, the steering is tight. It has an AUTOMATIC transmission, not manual as it says in the description (the options wouldn't let me select automatic for some reason??). The truck looks like it was used as a maintenance truck at one time, because you can see where there were numbers on the driver's side front quarter panel area. The body is very clean for an 89. There is some rust on the body under each door, and the fender wells in the bed each have a hole in them from rust (see pics). The truck is ready to be driven every day just fine, but it does have some issues: 1. The battery seems to drain when the truck sits for periods of time. When I don't use the truck, I just disconnect the negative battery terminal which solves the problem. 2. It has a very small oil leak coming from either the oil pan area or possibly the rear main seal. I haven't taken the time to fix or investigate because its never bothered me. The guy I bought it from said he would put in a quart every month or so. 3. The truck has two gas tanks, but the front tank does not work. I believe the fuel pump in this tank is bad, but I've not investigated. Rear tank works fine. 4. 4x4 High works fine, but I have not been able to get it into 4x4 low. It was like this the day I bought it, and have never cared to fix it. I am not sure if its a problem with the linkage to the transfer case, or something actually in the transfer case. This truck would make an excellent daily driver, especially if you live in a snowy area, or would also make a great farm truck if thats what you're looking for! If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them for you. Thanks for taking the time to look!
