Vehicle Detail

This vehicle is very special for two reasons: It was created to demarcate the 75th Anniversary of Rolls Royce, making this only 1 of 75 Silver Shadow II vehicles sent to the United States in this color scheme as evidenced by the red RR insignias present on the vehicle's exterior, the bright red and grey leather interior and the special plaque located in the glove compartment (see pictures). This motorcar also has a very unique history as evidenced by the medallion located on the dash which declares it was presented to Liberace by Rolls Royce. Liberace was, at one time, one of the highest paid entertainers in the industry and was famous for his overstated clothing and love of unique motorcars. We are this vehicle's third owner with Liberace being the first. We acquired this vehicle from a close personal friend of the entertainer who remains a treasured friend of ours. This motorcar has been well loved and has wear equivalent to that expected of a 30+ year old vehicle. It was driven frequently until 2003 when it was garaged. I acquired this vehicle to restore it in time to use it for my daughter's wedding but due to my health and other projects, I simply don't have the time to dedicate to it like this motorcar deserves. The are some superficial body and mechanical issues that I have found, but it will of course require a professional eye. The body and interior will need some restoration work to bring it back to pristine condition, but it is in good condition now. There is an area of wear on the driver's side floor upholstery where the vehicle's previous driver did not use a floor mat for a number of years causing their shoe to dig into the red carpeting. To prevent further damage, the area has been covered with a floor mat. The body has a small area of paint bubbling above the rear passenger's side wheel and areas of what appears to be paint crackling which seems consistent with a 30+ year old paint job from what I've seen. The vehicle's previous owner replaced the original radio with a Sony 10 disc CD changer which is located in the trunk but the Sony radio itself is missing from the dashboard and did not come with the vehicle. Previous owner stated that he sent the radio out for repairs. This was not important to me since I had planned to restore the vehicle with an original manufacture radio but I never got to that point. As far as the mechanical functioning of the vehicle, since it has sat garaged since 2003 I have not attempted to do much mechanically since I wanted to have a professional inspect, drain and replace all of the fluids prior to attempting to drive the car. I have had the vehicle started several times in the past year but it occasionally has needed a jump. The turn signal switch appears to be broken but I have been told it could easily be repaired for about $75.00 and is not serious. Being a fan of Liberace's music, this car is absolutely priceless to me, but I wanted to give a chance for someone to take this very special and beautiful car into their collection and restore it properly. Please take the time to review to photographs and feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding. I will respond as hastily as I absolutely can and to the best of my knowledge. Please note that I am not a mechanic so anything technical about the vehicle may not be known by me. The beginning bid is low so that all may have a chance to enjoy this motorcar. I believe the car is worth much, much more - especially after restoration. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
