my 68 bird was originally a 6 cyl sprint model, current drive train includes a 400 pontiac out of a '73 Grand Prix, and a TH350 auto trans. Clear Illinois title. Originally an Oklahoma car, purchased in Illinois in '93, has been in Florida since '94. Never driven in Illinois winter. Vehicle stored since '94 inside garage in FL. RUNS GREAT CONDITION Mechanical: Top end of motor newly rebuilt. Complete valve job, heads planed/machined, new cam/lifters, all new gaskets. Inspected cylinders/rings w/ heads off, rings/cylinders were still perfect. Edelbrock manifold, Hedman headers, Holley 600 carb, Mallory distributor, Accel supercoil. New battery, alternator, water pump, hoses, plugs. Front drum brakes all new including lines + master cyl. Needs rear brakes. Runs great, shifts good. Drives ok, needs front suspension rebuild, no pwr steering or pwr brakes. Needs tires - good tread, but 20 years old/dry rotted. Body: Body/paint still in great shape for 20 year old restoration. Very solid, panels very straight except for drivers door. Passenger side pan, rockers, trunk floor, shock mounts are all very solid - surface rust only on trunk floor. Drivers door has 4-5 hour dent, but repairable - no rust at all in doors. Hood is 400 style fiberglass - no hinges, held on by hood pins. Drivers side floor pan rusted through behind front seat (from inside due to leaky window), and soft up near pedals. Some minor rust/paint bubbles in seams at corners of back glass and roof channels. body work/paint bubbling on top of quarters. Fenders straight/solid but need minor body work at bottom edge. Glass has some scratches, windshield cracked in upper right corner. Bumpers look good but have minor damage as seen in photos. Good condition for driver car, or great restoration/custom project. Interior: Carpet, back seat, pass seat, headliner in great condition. Drivers seat has some small tears, but mostly in tact. some cracks in dash pad, center console wood grain dis-colored. overall looks good This would be a great driving project. Everything's there, just needs an owner with more time than I have.
