Vehicle Detail
I've owned this vehicle since 1975, did a paint job on it in 1986 with the fenders removed, and it has been garaged ever since. this is a project car, it needs restoration. the brakes are bad. they need new parts including a master cylinder. it has defects I tried to point out in the pictures such as bent bumpers, Right tail light lens broken, right headlight lens cracked (comes with two replacement headlight lens), not all of the stainless grill parts are there (some people call it chrome), small dents in the right rear fender lower trailing edge i didn't take out when i painted it. It needs wiring, there isn't a fuse in it. its missing the instrument cluster, I had a 1937 cluster in it when I drove it but someone evidently needed those. It has 1937 plymouth drive train parts such as the 3-speed tranny, the rear end, and the emergency brake. The radiator is also 1937. the thing that would bother me the most if i was looking at it would be the small wrinkles in the top skin. they have been there since i had it. I tried to show those in the last pictures. The rear door latches on the inside are gone, but it stays shut going down the road. It has sealed beams installed behind the headlight lens instead of the original bucket with a bulb. It has rust holes in the rear floor just forward of the rear axle and more adjacent to the clutch pedal. it has oil leaks. Mice got into the headliner just behind the seat on the drivers side. needs new running boards as they are rusty and rubber is cracked. Paint is starting to peel off the roof. VIN is on the rh door jam and matches the title. It has an original style flathead six, year unknown, and does run. the rear windows roll up and down. It can be driven onto a trailer. I replaced front end parts with original 1939 parts in 1986. this is a project car, don't bid without a way to haul it. It deserves a frame off restoration. It has potential. it is unique and restorable. I hope i'm in as good a' shape as this when I turn 73! If you are serious about bidding I would suggest coming up and looking at it. I had many good times just driving it the way it is only with good brakes! I've never seen another one in 37 years of owning it. feel free to e-mail questions. this is an as is, where is, project car that has to be picked up and hauled home by the buyer.
