Vehicle Detail

1968 Camaro RS – L30 Rare L30 327/275hp, California Car, no rust All Original Matching Numbers                VIN 124378L315099         Up for sale is my completely original 1968 Camaro RS.  This car has the rare L30 275hp option.  Only 11.2% of all Camaros made in 1968 had the L30 option.  The option was essentially a way to bring the car up to SS performance without the insurance costs.  See the link to the L30 information below: Link to rare L30 information   The car is completely matching numbers with the original “born with” engine, transmission, rear end etc.  It is a California built car and spent all its life in CA before coming here to Texas in the last 3 years.  The car has the rare turquoise interior.  This runs good, is very solid without rust issues but does need to be painted to finish her off.  There are numerous cracks in the paint from the sun and chips also, with some surface rust but no rust thru the panels or even on the floorboards (see pictures).  No rust cancer or anything like that.  There is also a slight dent on the header panel as shown in the photos.  The interior has been somewhat restored with new headliner and carpet.  The seats are original.  This car is very straight and should be an easy repaint without a lot of extra work.  It runs and stops good. This is a driver car that could be bought now and fixed later or would make a great father and son project.  It’s rare and has great options…best of all it’s a matching numbers original California car.   The car has the following options, adding to its value and rarity:   Rallysport Option (with hideaway headlights) L30 327ci/275hp engine Automatic Transmission Power steering Power disc brakes 12 bolt rear end multi-leaf rear springs tic-tac-toc (tachometer with clock) console gauges deluxe interior (rare turquoise) deluxe seat belts passenger side sport mirror     See the information below regarding the numbers:     11D (Build date) 11= November 1968 D= Fourth Week   ST68-12437 (Fisher Body Numbers) 67= 1967 Model Year Camaro 124=  V8 37= Coupe     LOS  14636 (Build Location) LOS= Built in Los Angeles, CA, Van Nuys Plant 14636= sequential build number  (14,636 body built)     TR 726 (Interior) 726= Deluxe Turquoise Bucket Seats Z=Custom Trim     C-2  (Exterior Color) C= Ermine White Paint; 2=Black Vinyl Top   Factory Engine Stamping:  T1115EE T= Tonawanda Engine Assembly Plant 1115= November 15th Assembly Date EE= 327 – 275ph L30 Engine (with Automatic Transmission)  The partial vin number  8L315099 is also stamped on the pad             > From the January-February CPI Collectible Vehicle Value Guide: 1968 Camaro RS Hardtop Coupe: Fair Good   Excellent $9,650 $17,275 $32,800   Feel free to email me with any questions.  I think that this car will appreciate in value over the next several years and is better than money sitting in your bank account, since you can enjoy the car while it appreciates (should appreciate faster than the interest from the loan for that matter).  This is a great example of a true matching number L30 Camaro.             (scroll down to see more pictures & link to video clips)   Exterior         Interior       Engine       Trunk and Undercarriage           Numbers                 ****For video clips of the car click these links:                                               My feedback speaks for itself, so bid with confidence.  I have sold many muscle cars from my private collection with very happy buyers…..Please email with any questions prior to bidding. I encourage you to come see the car in person if you like, please email me to arrange a time.  I will not disclose the reserve price - if you are serious about the car please bid. Do not bid if you cannot afford the car or do not have the funds available to follow thru with the transaction. If you have negative feedback from a previous Ebay Motors auction, please do not bid!   Terms of Sale: This auction is a legally binding contract, DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO FOLLOW THROUGH AND PAY FOR THE VEHICLE. This auction costs me money to list, so don't bid if you can't afford to pay for the car. Should the high bidder back out, Ebay will be contacted.  Non paying bidders will not be tolerated, so if you are prone to buyers remorse or are inexperienced with buying cars on Ebay, please have the car inspected prior to bidding. Funds to be paid via cashiers check or bank wire transfer. All cashiers checks must clear prior to vehicle shipment. Full payment is to be received within 5 days. I reserve the right to stop the auction early, the car is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied, all sales are final. Buyer to pay all applicable state sales tax upon transfer of title. Buyer to pay for any shipping cost but I will be glad to assist in any arrangements and can also provide a contact for shipping if need be. - Good luck! On Jan-28-12 at 00:16:23 PST, seller added the following information: The partial vin # is stamped on the engine pad next to the date code.  It's hard to see in the photo, but its there.  This is a matching numbers car. Thanks and good luck!On Jan-29-12 at 06:10:28 PST, seller added the following information: I would like to make one correction and add some info on the car.  The car does have drum brakes in front, not disc.  They are power brakes and work great. Also, the rear end code is BL, 3.07 ratio 12-bolt, correct for the car.  The wheels are 14" rallys with 60 series tires, plenty of tread.  All the lights work except the left tail light when lights are on.  The brakes, signals, headlights, all work for both sides.  The interior lights for the dash and gauges all work also.  The center console gauges all work, oil, temp, batt and fuel.
