CONDITION REPORT
Every so often, I am fortunate enough to purchase a car that is truly a WORLD CLASS example of a particular make and model. These kind of cars are just such sterling representations of the product line, others simply pale in comparison.
This impeccable 1989 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA is one of those cars, and I am proud to offer it to a worldwide audience right here on Ebay.
This is an ultra rare example of an already unique and rare version of the Trans-AM, and is one (1) of only eight hundred and sixteen (816) of its kind for the 1989 model year.
It is also a fully documented car with just under 33,000 ACTUAL, original, and documented miles.
This car wears its color code 41U black paint (GM NUMBER 41-WA8555) like it was still in a dealers showroom. There are almost NO exterior surface blemishes of any kind on the entire outside of the car, and even a hands and knees inspection reveals only a handful or so EXTREMELY tiny (1-5mm max) marks if anything at all. If this car were concourse entered, it would score a 10 out of 10 on condition of exterior finish, and really just shows like new.
The paint is still slick, smooth, and looks a mile deep in the sunlight or under the streetlights glow. It reflects like a mirror, and is just an incredible representation of a beautiful, black, GTA.
The optional body colored side moldings look as though they have never seen a parking lot, and show wonderfully as well.
The car rides on the gorgeous 16" honeycomb aluminum wheels the GTA package came with, and they are in very good condition, with all four Pontiac center caps intact, and in great condition.

The marks noted above appear on the outside lip of the rim, closest to the tire. Gold inside part of all four wheels shows incredibly well, as do the center caps. The rims are overall a solid 9.3 out of 10, and most people will not even see the marks I am talking about.
Tires are correctly sized P245/50R16 radials on all four corners, and they are in exceptional condition with an estimated 90% of the useable tread life remaining. There is no sign of uneven wear, damage, or dry rotting, and they show like new. The brand is VENTUS HRZ.
Inner fender liners still show incredibly well, and have just the light marks you would expect from a car that has only been driven about 1,400 miles per month since new!!!
All of the glass is in as new condition, with no chips, cuts, or markings appearing anywhere, including the factory T-Top hatch roof panels.
The T-Tops themselves are in exceptional condition, and function like new. Locking mechanism works without issue, and the optional (DE4) removable T-Top sunshades are both like new as well.
Remove the roof panels, and the seals and body area of the hatch are in exceptional condition, with no adverse wear, dry rot, or damage whatsoever.
The hatch roof was part of this cars (R6A) GTA Value Option Group which gave it the (CC1) removable T-top roof hatch along with the upgraded (AQ9) Ventura Leather interior. These items were combined in a package that added $945.00 to the GTA base price of $20,778.00. Only 5,478 GTA's were ordered and produced with this upgrade in 1989.
The upgraded and optional (D81) rear aero wing spoiler looks fantastic on the car, and still shows like new.
The power antenna on the car functions as it should, and hides out place in the RF fender when not being used.
Third brake light on the car functions as it should.
The fog lamps on the car are in excellent condition, and function as they should.
The headlights on the car are in excellent condition, and function as they should. Both high and low beams function as they should. The lights have been cycled on and off by me 25 times, and they open and shut with ease. They also open and close together, and do not stick in position at any time.
In summary, the outside of this car can truly be classified as a solid 9.50 out of 10, with nothing but the smallest, almost imperceptible items keeping it from a being a solid 10.
Opening the doors of this beautiful GTA shows an interior that rivals the outside for top honors award!
The luxurious looking, and optional (192) Ventura Leather Seat Trim in Black still shows almost showroom fresh from every angle, and show absolutely no sign of any undue wear, fading, rips, tears, seam pulls, or any other negatives whatsoever.
Seats are fully functional in all adjustment modes, including the power lumbar support system. Headrests are adjustable and function as they should.
There are no signs of any damage, prior repair, or issues with the entire leather seating surfaces of the car, and they show almost like new!!!
Door panels, kick panels, center console, and plastic trim inside the car all show incredibly well, with no cracks, damage, fading, or issues other than very light normal scuff marks and a very tiny light mark on the over head brace cover that I have highlighted in the 100 photos below. It is hardly noticeable, and I only point it out to try and make the car appear somewhat human, given the fact that it is really so practically flawless it sounds hard to believe!
The car has the optional (BV3) Instrument Panel Ornamentation, (B67) Cassette Tape Storage Box, (C60) Custom Air Conditioning, (DC4) Inside Rearview Mirror with Reading Lamps, (D3Y) Gear Driven Speedometer, (D42) Rear Cargo Cover Screen, (UK3) Steering Wheel Radio Controls, and (UT4) AM-FM Cassette Radio with Digital EQ and Clock.
The Cassette Tape Storage Box is inside the center console. The lid to the console opens as it should, and is not broken or repaired in any way. The center console light still functions as it should, and each individual cassette holder in the box opens and shuts as it should.
Map lights operate as they should.
The rear cargo cover screen is in excellent, damage free condition, and operates as it should.
Steering wheel controls still show like new, and each button functions as it should without issue.
Stereo system is fully functional, and sounds fantastic. All speakers work, all functions perform as they should, and from the Tuner to the EQ, everything does exactly what it should.
Carpet in the car is in exceptional condition, with no excessive wear, damage, fading or any other issues to speak of. Factory mats are in very good condition, and show light wear from normal use, but are still 100% serviceable, and show worthy.
Door panels are all in fantastic condition, with no damage, cracks, or fading evident. Handles and switchgear on them show wonderfully as well.
The dash shows as good as new, with no fading, cracks, scratches, or damage of any kind whatsoever. All of the buttons, switches, etc. on the dash function exactly as they should, and show like new.
Gauges, interior lights, radio lights, center console light, and all other means of illumination that the car was born with all work exactly as they should with no issue.
There are NO check engine or other dummy lights on in the car, but the warning lights that do come on when going through the starting procedure do show that they can function when needed.
Ashtray opens to reveal a clean, never used tray and lighter. This car shows NO SIGN that it was ever smoked in. It has NO ODOR whatsoever other that a hint of "NEW CAR SMELL" that still clings to it after 20 odd years!
The split folding rear seat is wonderful option, and functions as it should.
The original leather case for the hatch panels is still intact, and shows like new inside and out! It straps into place in the hatch area with fully functional straps.
The rear hatch opens and shuts with the power option, and can be released from inside by the dash mounted button, or key. It functions exactly as it should.

It has been carefully maintained and cleaned after each trip to make sure that the car stayed as nice as the day it was sold!
Everything under the hood functions as it should, and there are NO KNOWN mechanical, functional, or operational issues with this car as of this listing start date.
The car starts with a turn of the key, idles perfectly, and is ready to drive immediately.
The (MX0) overdrive transmission is a four speed automatic, and it functions perfectly in all gears up or down.
I have driven the car on the highway and in town, and it runs, handles, and performs like a new car.
Power is available at the press of the GO pedal, and thanks to the optional (GW6) 3.27 rear axle, fuel economy is probably good too!
