CONDITION REPORT
This is one of the nicest Model A Street Rods I think I have ever seen in my 42 years on this earth, and after you take the time to read this detailed listing and review the 100 photos below, you will think so too!
From the stack of receipts that comes with the car, as well as talking to both prior owners and the builder, I know that it was started in late 2008 right here in Florida, and was not completed until late 2009, when it found a new home in Kentucky. The second owner took an already unique and well done car, and made it even better with a fully customized interior, upgraded exhaust, and some incredibly well thought out and executed detail items that got this car ready for its NSRA 23 Safety Inspection, which it has passed with flying colors, most recently just this year (2011)!
The car is an amazing piece, and is so well built and constructed, that you understand where all the time and money went the minute you see it!
EXTERIOR
The all steel body shows laser straight, and is solid metal from stem to stern. No bondo or chicken wire is present, and every panel and section lines up perfectly on the entire car.
A 1932 grille shell is the only fiberglass part, and it looks fantastic on the car, while setting it apart from the other 30's at any show.
From the floor to the roof, the body on this car is absolutely incredible looking, and is 100% show ready RIGHT NOW!!!
The deep blue finish on the car is in incredible condition, and could probably win a regional event for BEST PAINT right now! It is a gorgeous, rich, shade that lets a little silver and gold flake pop out when it sits in the sunlight, or cruises under the boulevard streetlamp.
After going over the car with a fine tooth comb, I can honestly say that there are only truly minor blemishes in the cars entire painted finish, and they are from normal driving! Whatever is on it is miniscule in size, and amounts to nothing more than a tiny stone chip, hairline scratch, or other blemish. It is about as close to perfection as you can get from a car with almost 4,600 proven miles under its belt!
The car has been treated to some tasteful, old school style pinstriping that has been applied with one-shot. This striping is very professional, and graces the inside and outside of the car.
Door fit is superb, and with all new rubber weatherstripping in place, it probably seals up better than when Henry made it new!
The glass on the car is in great condition all around! Side and back glass shows like new, while the windshield has a few very fine marks around where the slide out bar is located. No dings, chips, cracks, or laminate issues anywhere, though.
Windows roll up and down easily on new tracks and fuzzies, and the NOS style chrome door handles and window roller arms all show wonderfully and function just like they should! Outside door handles show like new, and the included key locks and unlocks both driver and passenger door.
Vintage chrome dentist style mirrors grace each side of the car, and they show like new.
Chrome headlamps are vintage styled, and function perfectly in high or low beam.
Chrome low mount mini turn signals up front look great, and are unobtrusive.
The 38-39 Ford tail lamps show wonderfully on the car, and work as they should.
The car rolls on Wheel Vintique Smoothie 15" rims, with complimentary FORD center caps. They are wrapped in almost new Bias-Ply Firestone Wide Whitewalls from the Deluxe Champion series. They are size 8.20-15-102P in back, and 5.60-15 up front. The whitewalls are clean and undamaged, and the tires show over 90% of the useable tread life remaining.
The cowl mounted chrome "fuel" cover is fake, of course, but looks fantastic. The real fuel door is on the drivers side rear of the car, and looks and functions perfectly in its chrome hinged glory.
In short, the outside of this car still shows like new, and it is 100% show ready right now, even without a detail!
CHASSIS / POWERTRAIN
This incredible looking body is mated to a complete, color matched TCI custom fabbed chassis with dropped straight axle, front disc brakes, painted rear drum brakes, refurbished and resealed FORD 8" rear end, custom 4-link with coilovers, and chrome front shocks. All of the suspension and chassis components still show beautifully, and with just over 4,500 miles on the car since completion, function like new as well. Even the hardware used to mount everything still looks show ready, and you could enter this car in a regional event and take a prize RIGHT NOW without having to do a thing to it! JUST IMAGINE HOW NICE IT WILL LOOK WHEN YOU DETAIL IT!!!
The powertrain on the car is the venerable combo of 350CI GM V8 mated to a GM THM350 transmission. The entire motor was taken down to bare block before it was machined, painted, and resealed.
It has been fitted with a SUMMIT Racing intake topped with a polished Edelbrock Performer 600cfm 4-barrell carb with chrome finned intake breather. It runs and idles perfectly hot or cold, and has been carefully tuned to the car to provide power on demand, without ever running lean or rich.
8mm yellow Super Stock high suppression plug wires mate to an HEI distributor 65k coil, and get covered at the block with a set of beautiful billet covers.
A chrome alternator, chrome water pump pulley, and other misc. bits of chrome found on the motor help dress it up, and all show wonderfully.
Show polished finned aluminum valve covers look fantastic, and tie in to the cars gauge pod inside.
An Alan Grove alternator mount goes with the Alan Grove A/C compressor mount should you elect to finish installing air conditioning on the car (not included).
A RAND aluminum racing radiator keeps things cool, even on a hot Florida summer day, thanks to its 3-core design with integral transmission cooler.
Custom headers feed into a custom fabricated stainless dual exhaust set up that runs under the car and exits at the rear. Unobtrusive visually, the system sounds wonderful too, with a mellow rumble at idle, and just enough bark under full throttle to make you smile!
The transmission was also treated to a complete strip, rebuild, paint, and resealing job just over 4,500 miles ago, and still shows and functions like new.
The car shifts through each gear up and down exactly as it should, and it smoothly transfers power to the rebuilt FORD 8" rear.
The entire powertrain on this car has been rebuilt and resealed about 4,500 miles ago, and still shows and functions like new. It does not need ANY mechanical attention to drive and enjoy right now, and is probably one of the smoothest running, well built combinations I have seen in a long time.
INTERIOR
Inside, the car continues to astound and amaze, with a professionally designed and finished interior that is a show winner in every way!
The rich red carpet is in fantastic condition, and runs wall to wall on the floor of the car. It does not show any tears, rips, stains, or discoloration, and is just a normal cleaning away from looking brand new! It has been placed over a layer of soundproofing/insulating material to keep the cabin quiet and noise free.
The entire rest of the interior, including seats, headliner, kick panels, side panels, door panels, A-B-C pillars, and back panel have been covered in luxurious red leatherette with contrasting white inserts. It looks AMAZING, and shows no damage, tears, cuts, stains, seam pulls, or any other issues. Like new from front to back and top to bottom!
Seats are ultra comfortable, and the car has seat belts in place for four (4) passengers.
The entire cabin was sound and temperature insulated prior to interior panels being placed, so it is ultra quiet inside, inside when rolling down the Interstate at 80mph!
The dash has been painted to match the exterior, and has been fit with a custom fabricated finned gauge pod panel with red insert. This panel is stuffed with all new TPI-Tech vintage face gauges for TEMP, FUEL, SPEEDO, TACH, OIL, VOLTS. All of the gauges appear to be properly calibrated and function as they should. The digital odometer in the SPEEDO also functions as it should.
The entire gauge pod has been installed and laid out with just one plug to the wiring harness, making gauge swaps, maintenance, or repairs super easy.
Wiring has been completely redone, and is laid out perfectly with plenty of room for accessories. A full wiring diagram is included in the cars build folder.
Small LED lamps on the dash let you know if your turn signals or high beam are on.
An IDidit painted steering column has been installed with a polished billet mount, and has tilt functionality as well.
It is topped with a show chromed 3-spoke banjo steering wheel with leather wrapped cover that shows like new.
The column itself has billet controls for tilt, turn signal, 4-way flashers.
Headlamp pull is also billet, and looks and works like new. There is a high/low beam switch mounted on the drivers side kick panel and it functions perfectly by hand or knee.
Interior door pulls and window rollers all show like new, and are NOS style.
A vintage jewel cut rearview mirror looks great in the car, as does the single electric wiper with chrome housing.
The original owner intended to install A/C in the car, and most of the works has already been done including compressor mount, dash outlets (3), and wiring space. It would not take much to complete, and is already well sealed against the outside elements to make cooling a breeze. A SONY Xplod AM/FM/CD/MP3 head unit functions perfectly and has 52watts going out to 4 channels.
Roadmaster custom colored speakers sound fantastic, and blend nicely with the interior so as not to stand out. There are two up front in the kick panels, and two on the back deck.
Removing the rear access panel reveals a RCI Racing 15 gallon aluminum racing fuel cell with vent that has been carefully installed, sealed, and mounted. All fuel lines are real braided stainless with new ANSI fittings.
A Lokar emergency brake works perfectly and shows wonderfully, and the custom slotted shift for the automatic transmission has been treated with a Lokar matching boot as well.
Lokar gas and brake pedals look and function like new, and the whole interior really does look just like new from front to back!

TRAILER
Lift up the custom flip fold license plate bracket on the car, and you will see a REESE style box hitch with pin connector and full trailer wiring and harness. This is all in place to tow the matching trailer this car comes with!!!!
Yep, that's right! Built for the long haul cruises like the Hot Rod Power Tour, this car has a cargo trailer that hooks right up and is 100% legal in all 50 states as a tow behind.
It has some light scuff marks on its color matched exterior, but nothing really bad, and the tires, lights, and mechanicals all function perfectly.
Together, they look fantastic, and will hold enough gear for a nice long cruise, or that car show tail gate party!
DRIVEABILITY
This car starts, drives, rides, handles, and stops like it was just built!
Braking is solid and sure, and the car does not pull or wander, even under hard braking.
Steering is neutral and light, and the car is super easy to maneuver at low speed. On the highway, handling feels 1-to-1, and you can cruise it with one finger on the steering wheel even at 80mph!
All of the lights, horns, mechanical, and electrical items on the car work as they should, and NOTHING needs addressed at this time.
This car has just passed and NSRA Safety 23 inspection as few months ago. You can see what that entails at the following link:
