As far as I can tell, and based on my night aboard during a rainstorm, at some point rainwater filled the bilge up to about 8 inches above the floor in the lower salon. I think this was caused by someone removing a samson post (basically a rectangular piece of wood the bow sprit bolts up to) near the bow sprit, which created a funnel for rain water up there. I closed up that hole. The bilge is dry now and the boat does not take on water. The floor and supports seam solid, the only damage I see from the rainwater is that the teak is stained, and in some areas will need to be refinished.I could not get the engine to turn. I have a local boat yard who will install an identical good running engine for about $4500 total. Still, the engine in there may run with some work. I may be able to show the boat to serious bidders only on Saturday. YOUR BID IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT. IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH YOU WILL BE PROSECUTED AND POSSIBLY SUED FOR DAMAGES.
