Vehicle Detail
2002 Ford Explorer We have owned this car for 3 1/2 years, and it is in good condition for its age. I will begin with telling you the positives. Positives: Leather power windows and door locks keyless entry 6 disc cd changer sunroof driver side power seat Sport king all-terrain tires with 50% tread towing package roof rack four wheel drive temperature and direction display door keypad for locking and unlocking doors Negatives: small nick in passenger side seat (visible in pictures) a few stains in the carpet a few scratches on the exterior and one small dent under passenger side mirror (really looks good for its age) missing head rests for rear seats which have been missing since we purchased it Description: This car does have an engine problem. The engine is 4.6 liter. During the summer, before we quit driving it, the car started to have a miss in the engine around a speed of 50 mph or when trying to climb hills. I tried replacing the spark plugs thinking that would correct the problem, but it did not. Next, someone told me to try replacing the injectors, so I replaced all eight of them, yet the problem still remains. I also replaced one coil pack. I do not have the time, nor do I want to spend the money to fix the problem. Throughout our ownership of the car, we have had to add a quart of oil between oil changes. We already purchased a new vehicle and do not need this one. Otherwise, the car has always been well maintained, and we have not had other issues. The transmission shifts fine. A year ago we replaced the front rotors, brakes, and wheel bearings. A week ago we replaced the battery. We understand that due to the engine problems, we will set the reserve accordingly. We realize that the buyer will have to take on the responsibility of repairing the car. If you have any questions, please contact us. If you would like to test drive the car, please come and do so. As the buyer, the shipment or pick-up of the car will be your responsibility. We will hold the vehicle for you until you are able to arrange pick-up.
