Vehicle Detail

I was the first guy to look at this car and after everybody had come and haggled I was the guy to buy this car. It was from a real tough guy who did not want to sell his car. It has 7,000 miles on the engine and transmission rebuild and I have had it painted its original color. There is no build sheet or fender tag with this car, so it will forever be a hot rod GTX. My neighbors have a high end paint shop and they did a very nice job here. This car is breathtaking in person and no body wants me to sell. I am letting this one go for exactly what I've got in it and it was an expensive process. The wheels are too big in the front. The tires will have to be changed. The car pulls to the left and I have really only driven it 20 miles since the paint job. It looks ferocious. Over the last couple of months the battery has held a charge and it starts up no problem. It was converted to a 4 spd and shifts nicely through the gears. I can't get it into reverse because of the drag racing shifter. I don't have the patience to fiddle with it and I'm pushing this one out for a killer deal. I'm moving on to a different project that will be much more difficult to complete than this one. My neighbor said, "Even a 5th grader could get this one finished up." I just drove this yesterday for pictures and did a casual burn out through first and second gear. Not a scorching, get the neighbors to call the cops, top fuel freak out, just push the pedal down and she starts to get loose kind of burn out. It was pretty dang satisfying. I usually have a lot more to say but I'm going to keep it simple. The engine bay needs clean up & paint, The trunk was coated and is ok but could be better. The interior needs massaging back into shape. The rear window was sealed with caulking which did a great job preserving the troublesome area. It should be addressed and have the trim installed. The thermostat leaks. In a nutshell, I have a running, driving Gtx that looks amazing. It needs a patient hand to tinker it back to shape. This is the perfect project for someone with more time than money. The hard and expensive work has been done and now it's time to ice the cake. Harris. I believe the engine is matching, the previous owner told me it was. He knew the car for 27 years. The frame is not rusty. This has always been a California car. The interior appears to have been green. This was a vinyl top car. It does not appear to have been damaged in an accident ever. I replaced the hood with a used one from a car buff as the original was missing at purchase. Dan
