For auction is a 1999 GMC 2500HD with a 6.5L Turbo Diesel motor. This is the last year of the 6.5L TD, which was known as a great workhorse motor. The truck runs extremely well and has been professionally maintained. There are obviously a few cosmetic defects due to the age of the vehicle. This includes a dent with no paint damage under the Driver's side rear window. A scratched area about 2x2 just below bed rail on passenger side caused by a brake lever on a bicycle carried in the back. The bed is roughed up, but could be sprayed with a bed-liner to seal any issues. Minimal rust is evident on the body. On the interior, the drivers seat fabric has cracked on the side and the chair tilt lever has partially broken off. The only mechanical issues is intermittent reverse lights. I suspect the switch that activates them needs to be replaced. This does not look like a big job if one were to have a lift (or a mechanic!). The service diagram indicates a 1/2 hour job with "minimal skills required". The truck also has satellite radio installed. There is also a high idle switch for PTO use or warming up the truck on cold days. The (2) batteries are both about 4 months old. The tires have some life left in them, but probably could use a change in about a year. The 4X4 system operates normally as best I can tell. The Pump Mounted Fuel solenoid has been relocated as recommended to prevent overheating of the module. The truck was ordered by a GMC employee to be used for towing, but he soon sold it to a friend of mine, from whom I acquired it. Because it was factory/employee ordered, it has some interesting features. One is an oversized gear shifter. The other is power locks, but manual windows. This is always a good conversation piece. Vehicle also has cruise control, CD Player, and 4X4 low gear. I would keep the truck, but I have a new baby and need a different vehicle. There is no warranty on the vehicle and it is sold as is. I would prefer a bank wire for faster sale, but a certified bank check will also be accepted.
