They continued producing convertibles one more year but without the GTO badging. In 1972 you could order a Lemans Sport Convertible, add the T-41 Optional nose (which gave you the endura front bumper, dual scooped metal hood and the trans-am stlyed cut out front fenders) order a V-8 engine and a multitude of other options.This 1972 Lemans Sport convertible has a 350 V-8 engine, Turbo hydramatic automatic transmission, T-41 optional nose, Air Conditioning (A/c in a convertible), power steering, power brakes, Rally II wheels, dual horns, LH remote mirror with matching RH and a front shifter console.The T-41 option which was only $41.00 in 1972 (see the picture of the original window sticker) was a limited used option on convertibles.I purchsed the vehicle from a gentleman who bought it in 1973. I have a stack of receipts and old registrations dating back to 1975 with his name to match.I have an Ohio title to the vehicle from 1981 (see picture) and all of the books, manuals and even the welcome letter from Pontiac to the original owner. Included is the original window sticker and insurance card.The car is a good original car that has the original seats, carpets, interior, the dash is NOT cracked.The floors are rock solid along with the trunk. the fenders, doors and quarter panels are oringinal and in great shape. The car has 40 years of miselanious small dings and a few scratches. The engine runs strong and does not smoke. The transmission shifts smoothly and does not slip.Many evening and day trips I have anjoyed in this car along with my kids.The convertible top is brand new.I replaced the exhaust system three years ago.All of the options work exept for the A/C (it may just need a charge?)If you are in the market for a very good, solid car that you can get in and take the kids out, have fun at any car show this is the 1972 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible for you.
