Up for auction is our much-loved 2000 Mexican Beetle. It is with a heavy heart that we have to sell it, and we hope it goes to a good home. The paint is original, and as with any 10 year old car there will be a few chips, bubbles, and scratches....there is some minor bubbling at the bottom corners of the windshield and lower headlight sockets. The right-rear wheel trim ring is dented, and there is a dent in the driver's door just below the mirror. The paint is actually a blue-purple color and it flip-flops back and forth depending on the lighting conditions. The air conditioning system could use a charge, and a new idler bearing for the belt....but it does work. The interior is nearly new, the seats are very comfortable, and the car rides down the road very nicely. I would perefer a $500 deposit via paypal upon auction closing, but other agreements can be made in advance. This car is being sold as is...where is. History: This car was driven into the U.S. from Mexico back in the summer of 2000 and sold. An Indiana title was issued on 8-1-2000 and the car had 5,100 miles on it. Then in December of 2000 the car was issued an Illinois title and saw periodic service at Autobarn-VW in Evanston. Then in September of 2008 the car was titled back in Indiana. We saw this car at the Kruse Collector Car Auction in Auburn Indiana and just loved it. We purchased it shortly there after. On Jan-02-12 at 08:07:12 PST, seller added the following information: We have been asked if we have the owner's manual for this car...Yes we do. We have all of the original documentation for the car, as well as the keys for the ignition, alarm system, gas cap, and immobilizer system. This car is totally original and complete right down to the tires.
